Sawatdee Terps and glad to make contact with another grower here in Siam. At the moment I want to finish off this grow and then get ready for the next. Looking at the climate and sun cycle, I think I'll start the next grow around July and then go for a "perpetual harvest" set-up, taking clones and try grow right through the year and into early part of next year. I still have issues with outdoor grow but holding thumbs. Let's stay in contact and share experiences and advice.

Hey Mr Purple Clouds, thank you for visiting. Hope all is well with you and we see more of your posts. At the moment I'm smoking the last of the Swazi, after a year spent curing. Very nice smell and taste, a bit more visual then the brick i usually smoke. The Thai plants I grew were disappointing as there was nothing to smoke. The DP needs more work and I hope to have a better idea from this year's grow.

My grow is looking a little pear-shaped, the plants keep growing! I'll update the thread with fotos and details soon. Meanwhile, here is the Swazi I'm smoking at the moment. This was my first grow and I harvested a little too early. The heads are full of seeds. Also my manicuring leaves a little to be desired, but this is a nice strain with lots of potential.

Ready for the update? Hold on tight, here we go.
All of the plants OUTSIDE appear to be re-vegging. After almost two months of nice bud development, they started sprouting new leaves and baby buds.
Have a look at the Durban Poison:

After the initial burst of white pistils which then browned off, most plants INSIDE have also continued to grow, with tiny buds and more white pistils. I’ve dialed back the lights from 12/12 to 11/13.
The Swazi at 9 weeks flowering are almost ready. There is some growth from the tops, but not too much.
The DP has been 9 weeks flowering and looking good, with nice thumb-sized buds along the stems, but some growth from the buds. I think these can go another week and then I’ll chop them.

The Thai-laos plants are at 10 weeks flowering and tiny buds are starting to develop. These will need at least another month or two.

Great man... I wish I could spend 1 o 2 years in Thailand growing tropical sativas and fruits as well. Loved those mangos, I can't imagine how good must taste when you pick them right away from the tree!! Are those growing wild or in gardens?
It would be great to grow SE Asian and any other tropical landrace sativas there in such a great enviroment for them. Hopefully you will find nice strains to see how they behave in such conditions. Hybrids won't survive the humidity and heavy rains. Maybe that's the reason why those Durban Poisons got bud rot (I'm pretty sure they are durban X skunk hybrids).
Indonesian, Malaysian, Laotian, Cambodian or Myanmar sativas should be easy to find, much easier than good thais I guess.

Howzit Mister Mustafunk, I hope you get to spend time in Thailand growing out tropical strains, or at least visit for a holiday! Thanks for the useful comments. So you reckon this Zulu weed has some skunk hiding in there, interesting.
I've got a couple of mango trees in the garden, they grow really well around these parts with our soil and climate. They are the most delicious you’ll ever eat, sweet with a smooth creamy texture. Interesting how their growth from babies to maturity closely parallels my grow this year.

I hope you didn`t chop those revegging plants all the way down ?
If they have anything smokeable harvest it . Now leave a few nodes and cut the rest off .
Like shaping a rose bush . The old root stock can grow a huge bush over the long season .
So this is the turning point or prolly 2 weeks ago was . More Indica dom varieties will continue flowering and even finish mid summer if well into flower as the days lengthen .
Plant Indica dom now for good size bushes end Sept / Oct . Sat dom for later harvest in Oct / Nov . Thai weed for trees and Jan Feb March harvest . he he .

Can't believe you cured that swazi for a year! My jars never make it very far...

Glad you didn't mention how terrible they look! Golly, this grow has been such a disappointment for me, but I've learnt a lot. Anyway, with all your great input I've got lots of ideas for the main grow season.
BTW, luckily I did read your other posts about not chopping them down, so I did leave some stem for attempting a re-growth. However, I suspect my soil mix this year is just rubbish, so I'm keen to start at the very beginning again.
Also started chopping the plants indoors, put them out of their misery! Outside the humidity is starting to pick up noticeably now, this is the time to get drying.

Hello Globs, happy to see you around. The one year cure took lots of self-discipline, but the results were rewarding. Very nice smoke, great smell and aftertaste.----------------------------------------------------

seems you have the real deal there
quite impressing this slow flowering!
compared to my Hmong thai which is also a Highland Thai/Laos variety it has more of the ancient thai stick traits.
have you ever smoked that pheno?
btw this is my Hmong Hilltribe on flowering day 25, huge of a difference to your line. much faster

to be honest i have no clue. i run them for the first time.
i got 20 beans of this variety a few years ago and haven't paid much attention to them, but my goal for this year was to make at least enough seeds for further breeding. I startet with 10 seeds and ended with 6 plants in flowering, all females so far.
the purpose was preservation of this special line, but since its not exhausted any more there is no need for it. you can get a pack of 10 for 25€ online
on the other hand I would also be interested to get my hands on your thai. like I said before, this looks really oldschool.
how was the potency ând high of the bricks you picked your seeds?

oh man that is something unique around here.
basically only outdoor weed has this taste or lets say undertone.
that is why i changed to organic growing now and forever, its the only way to get the full aromas indoors as well.
about the high I'm looking for the legendary thai stick "acid" high everybody is talking about. the description of the variety fits your pictures more than just well, thats why I'm so excited about it.
I'm sure there its lots of smoke n mirrors about the high, or mabey it was just a pheno.
I have only tried Thai weed once in Amsterdam, it was ok but of poor overall quality but i guess your local stuff on the other hand would just take me right out haha
