Love those purples! What strains did you use for your males when you open pollinated with all your genetics? Find any keepers in your previous grows of these seeds?
Man that must have been fun buying all those 5 gallon buckets. LOL I'd always get questioned why I was buying 10-15 pots from home depot or some place.
Amazing greenhouse PoorBoy, definitely looks like a dream come true to me. I wish our outdoor season was long enough for two full crops before rain and cold... Lucky!
I had no idea that good bud is more expensive in South America, I knew that there was sexi mexi everywhere but I thought kind would be cheaper too. Goes to show that fiery buds are in high demand everywhere.
tokinafaty420 - think wholesale bro. If you walk into Home depot and buy 500 buckets you stand out. Look for the manufacturer or a local distributor and order them wholesale. When you buy in quantity that way, it's cheaper and it's what they expect. Pick them up yourself and there is no delivery record. You can get 1000 in a small pickup with a little shrink wrap. Mine are either 2 1/2 or 3 gal. Never was sure on that. They're 10" dia and 11" tall.
blazesck - When I did the open pollenation, I don't remember exactly, but I think the males were probably Original Haze, Durban and Mazar. I was kinda bummed at the time and it's been a while so I'm not 100% on that.
This is the first time that I've seen these colors on any of the grows from these crosses, I'm pretty stoked. I never popped this many at once before. I have 180 buckets left after eliminating the males. Maybe 15% are showing coloration. In the pics they all look kinda similiar. Under natural light, some of them are redish like cranberries, others are various shades of purple, and one is a deep purple black that stands out like a blacklight poster. Thats one of the fems I knocked up with the purple male pollen. I have high hopes for that one (so to speak). You can see it in the bottom right of center in this pic - http://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=12621&pictureid=292809
I've been growing from seed for a while, but not keeping any mothers. I want to isolate some of these keepers and make selfed fem seeds from them.
53 days flower. At least 1/2 of these are starting to finish. I'll probably start cutting some of them in another 2 weeks or so. Alot of them are going to need more time though. Expecially the haze crosses. I've cut a few small buds that were starting to show mold, so far it's not been bad. Fingers are crossed. I'm close enough now I could cut them if I had to so I think I'll be ok.
I'm new to the forum, and just subscribed to your thread. Looking good, but I have a few questions (sorry if you've already answered these but I missed the info).
1) What nutrients are you using?
2) How do you water all those plants?
3) Are you draining straight through the bottom of your buckets into the ground (I don't see any holes)?
Thanks Hans, the mold is inevitable. I've never had a GH grow that I didn't lose some to it. I hand water every other day, so I look each plant over really. The trick is to catch it early, then just cut the whole plant or bud. The plants are at 650days, the haze still has a long way to go.
Cannalicious, I handwater the plants. It takes me 30min every other day. I mix the fertilizer in a water tank and pump it through a garden hose to a wand. Fast and easy
I use cheapo nutes 20-20-20 and 10-30-20 in flwr. I think I'll have spent about $15 on nutes and $20 on molasses this go around when all is done.
As it is my first post on Icmag I say hello to everybody here.
Poorboy, could you tell me what approximate size of your greenhouse is? And wattage of your lightbulbs? Did you turn on the light straigth after the sunset?
I'm considering moving into area where daylenght is similar to one over your greenhouse and looking for ideas for a setup on a new soil.
Excuse my mistakes, english isn't my first language.
very cool.a friend of mine also grows in a tropical area and has troubles with the same thing (white flies/mold), especialyl mold in the rainy season when it rians for weeks.
any remedies to this that you know of? or just fans and cutting moldy buds? its a shame as half her crop is lost to cold, and she runs a lot of fans.
