Spraying just once a week is enough??
I'm so excited to be following this thread!
Big respect to your work and to sharing it with us
It would seem so. It’s been 55 days from germinating. I started spraying from the first set of true leaves but I was going heavy with dosing.
I’ve been giving the correct (for potatoes lol) 33mg/litre for the last few weeks and it’s stil vegging. Nodes aren’t even alternating.

This definitely would be s game changer. Gonna look into acquiring some. This allows for late planting guerilla sites.
I reckon so. It’s about finding the right dose. Too much seems to stall the plant but even that has application for a mother plant you want to keep small.
33mg may be too low a dose because the very newest growth on the top looks female. Until I dropped the dose, you couldn’t of even sexed it. It’s still in veg but I’m going to mist it twice a week from here (at same dose) so effectively double the application.
I took cutting at the same time from regular photoperiod strains so we have control for the auto clone.

Gonna stop by gnc see if they have it in stock. How late are you putting autos out at 45 n I cam drop starts until the middle if August and still finish outdoors.
I’ve haven’t done it yet. June and July is about it here. The cost of auto seeds put me off because I would guerrilla them and that’s too risky for expensive seeds.
If I can make clones, that’s a different proposition. Not only can I make as many as I like for free, they will be reliably homogenous and predictable. I can also veg them.

I wonder if this would work with regular auto seeds, if, at the point of seeing one is female that it can be sprayed to stop the flowering. Or does it need to be done at germ?

I started spraying with a high dose from first true leaves onward. It definitely keeps an auto in veg.
If the cutting roots, we know they can be cloned. If it works and I had regular autos to sex, I would spray from true leaves, root a clone and not spray the clone so you find out that way without risking your seed mother flowering.

I was just wondering, cuz I have read that with some photos, if the males decide that they are male, sometimes they just won't stop, no matter if put back into 24 hours light. Just wondering if that was a thing with 'auto' traits.
But Spaventa has the 'just to be safe' answer to the problem. Might be tough to keep all those male cuts until sure about sex, but that's the way it is!

I'm having the opposite problem no males just put out a bunch of fem seedlings with no males so may have to add a regular male to the mix

Tryptophan doesn’t pause day neutral plants. It helps flower/fruit in those plants like strawberries, cucumbers etc. Those that tested found heavier harvests with Tryptophan applied throughout the plants life.
Some of the spray I aim at the auto goes on nearby regular (Neville’s Haze) plants and the only thing I noticed was faster root development.

Update. 12 days since I took cuttings from the auto and some regular strains…. All the Neville’s haze regular rooted in 5-7 days but still no roots on the auto. I’ve seen plenty take longer then this so we carry on waiting.

I have gone back to rough dosing heavy. I was getting some pistils with the precise recommended (for potatoes) dose.
The stem curling doesn’t happen so much now it’s a bigger plant but it does effectively stall the plant.
I think the answer is cycling the Tryptophan on an intended auto mother, so you stay in veg but also grow when you need.
Of course none of that matters if the cuts don’t root. The cutting is just starting to yellow a bit so that might trigger self preservation in it and make it root. I’ve had strains before that didn’t root till they got hungry.

And today, just like that… autos can cloned

Great smells from a stem rub on the mother. Seems to have plenty of terps despite the Ruderalis genes
My plan now is to turbo veg her under CMH with full strength feeding, get her big enough to take a decent batch of snips and see if I can get them out guerilla for August. If we are luckier with August and September then we have been all “Summer” I could hopefully get something tangible out of the experiment.

Oh, I’m hitting her with Tryp everyday lol As far as I can see, no amount does any harm. Going to low results in pistils. Dosing back up stops them. The stalling only seemed to affect it when it was still a baby really.

Interesting, I got my.🍿. Test this on a known high terpene, high quality plant. Testing on low quality or unknown, I'm unsure how anyone would know if it had any effect.
