These spiders are very common all around the mountains. Every tree is covered in web and there always seems to be loads of little buggers in each one. If you stray anywhere from the path your gonna be walking through these things. I was walking through the forest, minding my own business and rubbing some jungli as I went. Slightly stoned as usual, I was looking down at the plant between my hands when i walked mouth first into a web with about 10 of these spiders in it. Nearly kissed the bastard. They're bigger than they look too. Maybe a member of the Orb spinning family?

Some cool pics there El Rubio. It's hard to beat Nepal. I was over there in 2010 for a few months too. I found it very hard to find any decent charas which was disapointing as it's some of my favourite hash of all time. lots of pollen there though, which seemed cleaner to me. I also scored some seriously tasty weed...nicely cured, not brown, hazy flavour mixed with fresh fruits. Almost lime green flourescent colour. Half kilo for 15 euro in a village an hour outside Pokhara....very limited seed count too. Have a few shots from nepal here...BTW, where did you find that tasty lookin temple ball? That represents a few good days of smoking. Cant wait to get back over there for a happy holiday again. Here's some Nepalese Pollen, I think this stuff was priced at around 1 euro a gram. ...maybe less. Tasty.
Also from Nepal is this collection of pollen with a small piece of very tasty (and elusive) reddish handrub. This charas was some of the only uncontaminated black hash i came across in Nepal. Very sweet flavour and we had to get outta the towns to find it. nice coconut mixing bowl too...wonder where that is now...prob round here somewhere anyway..

i had a bit of luck and managed to score that beautiful nepalese ball inna tiny village onto the ABC route. It wasnt an "official" step in that specific trekking circuit, and we had to walk an extra hour appart from our dayly journey (about 6 hours +- each day) to reach it. Actually i remember i was exhausted that day...Near Landruhk is the most i can locate the area im afraid.

Curious if you were just wandering about, or if you had contacts/guides. Are these remote growers/producers just that willing to share with you and demonstrate their methods? Is it pretty usual for a guy like you to come waltzing in asking to see some hash plantations?
Hey Turtle leg...I went on the seed hunt firstly to see all the different genetics growing and collect some of the more outstanding and interesting varieties to work with. I also have plans to open a landrace seed bank and make these many varieties available to anyone who wants to explore landrace flavours for smoking or just to introduce some new genetics to the cannabis world. Some of these ladies would make for interesting crosses. Some beautiful aromas, colours and flavours and some interesting plant structures. Something to look forward to.
Hey Chappie, hows things? I guess it does look a bit strange to just breeze into another country and go find some ganja farmers to hang out with but that's exactly how this happened. I had previously been to the same areas and met a few locals, but to be honest its very easy to make connections. Ganja grows wild all over the valley but the charas plants are grown on the harder to reach upper slopes of the peaks. Away from prying eyes.... Your gonna be trekking vertically up for a few hours before ya reach the first farms. I came up with a guy I met in a coffeeshop who actually owned a few fields. We arrived at his farm where his whole family were sitting out on the veranda rubbing charas. We were offered food and chai and sat down to help the family for a few hours. Beautiful views down different valleys from our eagles vantage point. Once your prepared to clamber up some wonky slopes for a few hours in the baking heat, clutching cannabis roots for support, you will be handsomely rewarded.

Im currently in thailand on the same sort of mission as u but they are on the complete other end of the spectrum here than india when it come to ganja! So hard to find any farmers here as its such a risk for them so im off to laos in a couple weeks to try my luck there.

Hello Terps, whats cracking? I hope south east Asia has something nice to offer ya. Laos should be a good place to have a look, and Cambodia too. But as your in that neck of the woods, I reckon Northern Burma would be a great place to start. I know they grow a shit load of weed up there. Could find a proper gem up those hills. Tropical sativa paradise.
If your visiting India the mountain harvest is between late September to early November and I believe they have maybe 2-3 harvests a year down in Southern India...(Karnataka,Kerala...). In Nepal the Harvest in the mountains goes till early December in some places, and down on the plains(Terai) they are capable of a few harvests each year too. Ya wont have to worry about finding weed in the Himalayas. Ya just have to make sure not to stand on it as it's everywhere ya look.

Dont sound like its got a patch on india though treading on ganja everywhere i go is my kinda place!
id prefer to go in the mountains rather than south india as i would imagine its better up there?
Plus i do love a good trek and them hills look superb! Nepal and himalayers deffinately sound like abit of me! How are locals towards foreigners? Can you speak indian?

I definitely love the mountains because ya have the himalayas as a backdrop, crazy views, weed everywhere, very friendly locals, less frantic pace of life, Lots of momos(gorgeous tibetan/nepali dumplings) and its cooler up there.
The South also has loads to offer on the exploration front. Loads to see, some beautiful beaches, more friendly locals, jungles, loads of wildlife, different food...i reckon ya could travel India for 10 years and still be amazed every day.
I dont speak any indian languages...few words here and there just. And the locals people i met were all very friendly and helpful. They just love to talk to you. Its great craic. Get booking lad.
I take it most himal girls aren't all that too look at? Can't say I've seen many over the web lol

Wow browntrout....there is no shortage of beautiful ladies up the mountains. Peoples appearance, colour, language and traditions are so different from state to state, you may believe yourself to be in a different country. A lot of the local women seem to work harder and are less visible about town than the men. Most of the time they are at home or out collecting food or wood....I guess they don't post too many photos of themselves online. In some villages they're still waiting on electricity.

Here's a pic from Malana village. These people know how to make top quality hashish. Also, as a westerner we were not allowed to touch any local people and also a few buildings in the village were out of bounds. If we did by accident, it was a fine of 1000 rupees. The men all hang out in the main square smoking chillums while the women all chill together in the houses. Most people shunned us and our cameras, that's why I was surprised for these girls to actually pose for a photo. Most women were jumping out of our paths or just plain avoiding us. Its a surreal place.
