My wife's grandmother would make this sausage soup that was just ridiculous. I remember her throwing flour in there, and I had no idea soup required flour. Possibly for richness who knows, big handful of flour.....in a soup. Is that what restaurants do?

yup, used to thicken soups/stews. has to be added before bringing soup up to temp or will do the same as it does to gravy, and nobody likes lumpy soup, stew or gravy.

one trick however remedies that, in a separate small jar make a mix of flour & water, only add a little bit at a time as you think it's needed, that way it's already combined & ready to go.

JC Whiney or Warshawski auto parts catalog has those, Amazon, etc. those musical car horns usually play a dozen or more tunes, "La Cucaracha" being a favorite :)

Well, life sucks Minds I, get a helmet. I mean my kid is literally picking the cookie dough out of my Ben and Jerry's right now. There's going to be nothing left but vanilla, and a few chocolate chips...

my dad would buy ice cream cones or regular ice cream pops on a stick for me & my sister, then he'd ask/tell us he wanted a bite of ours, we'd wait n' watch in fear as he'd bite off huge pieces/portions of our ice cream, left us crying more than once. ahh, the good old days.......

Every time we go grocery shopping, we get 5 pints of B&J's for each member of the family. That particular night, my youngest had 2, which included mine. He asked me nicely for it in front of Mrs Merx, I looked at her gave a Jerry Seinfeld "allright!" to him. No snack for me...because this isn't a democracy. Maybe it's him that pays the nurse to wipe my ass when I'm 80. I'd prefer a simple hose off anyway, and an air/fan dry. Not sure that works logistically. Possibly huck a handful of Gold Bond powder at it.....it's very refreshing, like a morning flower.:)
