Well, I have smoked pot in 10 or 11 states and all 10 provinces - but I never made it to Alaska. I did see a swath of it from 40K feet on a flight from Beijing one time when the whole plane was sleeping but I was awake watching the scenery out the window.

Well, I have smoked pot in 10 or 11 states and all 10 provinces - but I never made it to Alaska. I did see a swath of it from 40K feet on a flight from Beijing one time when the whole plane was sleeping but I was awake watching the scenery out the window.

Some of our demographic likely seems more appealing from 40,000 ft. But there's some down-to-earth folks here still.. :)

Look up Copper Lake and Tanada Lake on Google Earth; they're in the Wrangell-St. Elias Range/Wrangell-St. Elias Nat'l Park & Preserve, from back when Jimmy Carter cast himself into a fray by changing old-time access to resources for folks by establishing those parks and Preserves (otherwise I liked the guy as a conscientious human being)..

You might also look at Google Earth, across the Border, into the somewhat remote, definitely rural reaches of your Country, to Aishihik Lake, and the old (mostly abandoned except for special uses by the Aishihik-Champagne First Nations Band) Village of Aishihik.

There's some holes in Aishiihik Lake that are -almost- (but not quite) as deep as the deeper holes in Kluane Lake, on the opposite side of Kluane Lake from Destruction Bay, over on the Canadian side of the Alcan Hwy. Old stomping grounds to some degree. Lots of history there from long ago and far away.

Burwash Landing and Destruction Bay (on Kluane Lake) are both hurting for the last bunch of years, after the cost of fuel went ape after GW's invasion of Iraq, And the Village of Aishihik was mostly deserted in about 1962, when many of the First Nations Band there moved into Champagne and Haines Jct., Y.T.

Those places and others, to include Kathleen Lake, 15 miles south of Haines Junction, hold AWESOME lake trout. Some real monsters in those waters, if the weather & gear will let you have access to them.

All things even, we will hopefully have more good times in those places.

Just had an informal Carcross, Yukon Hippie School reunion, size small, at Aishihik Lake this last August, after the Alaska-Yukon Border opened up for discretionary travel. And word has it that a person known well to those I visited in August, my surrogate family from the 1970s, just bought a lodge he's fixing up, near Kathleen Lake, so we may be back into Kathleen Lake for early-to-mid-March lakers.

We'll see how it all pans out.

Life has always been about how much flesh we're willing to trade to get where we think we want or need to be. Sometimes those 'negotiations' with the Cosmos seem less responsive to our whims or wishes than others. Sometimes we win the raffle, and sometimes we've just wasted good money on pieces of paper, but we've got to play in order to win.

Acceptance is not giving up, it's simply an acknowledgement of the situation. Acceptance is saying, “Okay, here's the situation. I accept that I am here.” It's about recognising your limitations and being at peace with how things are right now. It's about focusing on what you can do rather than what you can't do.

Keep doing, moose eater . Golden tickets are rare. Anti-androgen therapy was not pretty for my Dad. Just sayin' I agree with you.

Extracting THC-A currently from about 9 oz. of premium (crumbled) flowers consisting of 3 varieties; Satori 2, Satori 5, and White Lotus 4, using 95% ethanol, which I'm graced with having a decent supply of for now.

Have a NICE lab-grade ceramic cook-top hot-plate for the first time, and can dial in temps at Celsius pretty accurately.

Alcohol (and other solvents) are coolants; they evaporate as part of their cooling process.

Began the process in mid-late afternoon, outside, due to explosive nature of the solvent, with the Sun still up, and about +35 f on the front porch. Was using about a 5 or 6 qt. stainless sauce pan of decent quality, with just under a half-gallon of solvent in it.

Was being very cautious to keep the hot plate down to a temp that wouldn't decarb the oil.

Took a couple hours to get about 1/5 to 1/4 of the solvent evaporated, by which time the Sun had gone down, it was dark out, and the temp on the front porch, the last I looked, is in the +mid-20s f..

Transferred the solvent to a smaller stainless sauce pan, to get better complete contact on the bottom of the pan.

Compensating for the evaporative cooling of the solvent, I've turned the hot-plate up to about 115 C. or 239 f., WAY higher than I want it, but the solvent still measures at about +40 or so c.; +43 C. on my second IR heat gun.

Will turn it way down in a bit, once the temp of the solvent begins to rise in relation to the temp on the hot-plate. I suspect it will happen fairly quickly, so I need to be on my toes & ready.

Going to be a long night, I think. But one that hopefully produces the kind of medicine I want/need.

Tired. Shut down the hot-plate @ close to 10:00 P.M. & put a lid on the pot. called it a night. If it weren't so late in the Fall, or I had an indoor 'safe area' with a lab-grade exhaust hood, I'd be way ahead.

By the time I turned it all off, I was running the hot-plate way hotter than I'd initially intended, but the temp of the solvent was still pretty low.

Need to air dry another 1/4 lb.+ to match the 4.5 to 5 oz. I haven't soaked yet, in order to have sufficient extract to last through to warmer weather.

Meanwhile, I have maybe 1.5 pints of what was close to 2 quarts to finish evaporating.

Yep. I'm tired, but it felt better last night to be up and making progress.

By the way, I did something I'd not have done if I'd been using Iso instead of ethanol; at one point, contrasting temp of the hot-plate to the temp of the solvent by dipping my finger into the solvent, and then to the bottom of the solvent, pressing my finger against the bottom of the inside of the pan, I confirmed that the disparity was indeed that great, re. hot-plate temp & liquid temp. But as I was extracting my finger from the ethanol, I tasted my finger; OUTRAGEOUSLY SWEET!! Apparently there were LOTS of natural sugars in my flowers! Who'd have thunk it??

I'll resume outdoor cooking in the later morning, or noon-ish here. Pain in the ass that it is. Then crumble that next 1/4-lb. of flowers to get them bone dry, for the next 9-oz. soak.

More medicine; chaga...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F--CyCT1aF4

I advise taking the presenter up on his suggestion re. researching 'chaga & cancer', or similar search terms (i.e., chaga & A1C, or chaga & immune system, etc.), though trying to stay away from unsubstantiated claims; stick to well-known research organizations and names if possible, and thereby avoiding the scammers who may simply be trying to sell you something.

Lesbians have a tranny problem. All the lesbian bars and lesbian events are filled with trannies aggressively hitting on them. Seriously, if you're going to do that, just stay a man.

The bizarre part is that it actually works sometimes, and the tranny winds up dating a lesbian and they have regular sex with his "girl dick".

It's like laying your eyes on someone for the first time, and they are already giving you the 'do not approach' stare.

What is actually grating, is I cleared my cookies and changed IP, but still I'm logged in and banned. I'm not sure how they are Identifying me, but I have lost a resource.

I filled in the forms... it said awaiting approval. I never got an email, but when I refreshed hours later... Banned for SPAM.

I switched to another browser on another network... I can still view but it's not how I use my setup.

That's 3 sites I'm banned from. Each with an equally ridiculous story. I think if you are not banned from at least one pot site, you must be doing something wrong :)

You can't possibly have the time to surf other sites, having to moderate us unruly lot lol
