I don't think we have an ability to change a great deal when it comes to the economy,
but there certainly are things one can do to reduce the risk involved with covid.
You may want to reconsider how you deal with risk mitigation.
last summer we went out to the beach and spent a long 3 day weekend with another couple.. went to dinner/etc... on sunday my buddy was leaving, we went to a lunch... came home, i started to feel shitty, took a covid test...positive.. took another some hrs later positive... i was sick, yet the '3' other people were fine... your evaluation ???

Sounds as if you may have been fortunate, and the level of exposure was not as severe as it could have been. Between the mentioned dinners and lunches, it sounds like there was a considerable amount of possible exposure.
We live in a society where many things can be surmounted, but once good health is lost, that can change.

Interesting content by an astute young man. While the right may indeed claim that they believe in equal opportunity for all, they in fact believe firmly in a double standard. They take great pride in their ability
to be able to provide fixed outcomes.

agree... but should we stop living.... stay in the house, just venture out to retrieve the mail?? i agree try and limit your exposure... but 4 of us were in the same house, went to the same places for lunch and dinner, yet i was the only one to come down with it... its like the lottery ... the luck of the draw... except with the lottery all u are out is a few bucks...

did they test? it might be that they simply had no symptoms, even something like 40-50% of cases iirc were asymptomatic during the early days of the pandemic

"These findings indicate a high burden of asymptomatic respiratory virus infection exists in the general population."
