Since I was a kid in the 70’s they’ve been threatening us that there would be no social security benefits by the time my generation qualified for payouts.

Maybe it’s going to come true. 😂 Probably not but hey believe what you must to keep yourself going.

You’d think after the 200th time of people claiming the world was going to end…then it didn’t…you’d get a clue

What a curious perspective. I recall earlier days in the space race, when they did not do
live launch broadcasts, because so damned many failed. I recall the progression as
they did better with the passage of time. What I don't recall, was the media fawning over Walter
Von Braun with each success, to the extent you insist on fawning over Musk. I believe that
Von Braun was far more deserving of such recognition than Musk could ever dream of being.
I am curious as to why exactly you think that Musk deserves such credit for the return of
the astronauts.
Russia has done a fine job of bringing them back for us for quite some time now,
at a fraction of the cost.
If you wish to agree with me on something, perhaps it might be that it was rotten
to keep the astronauts up there as long as we did in order to showcase the new American
retrieval method, failing to mention that it costs vastly more than we paid to have Russia
bring them back for us.
