saw that. i guess since they swapped Britney Griner for their arms dealer, they got cocky and wanted to see what we would give up for a reporter. probably hoping to get an accused spy named Vladimirovich, who was indicted/jailed last week. i understand that reporting on Russia needs to be done FROM Russia, but i would no more go there than i would North Korea, Saudi Arabia, or China. the law there is what they say it is, and there is no real recourse.MSN

Has more to do with you being from a certain country than your recreational vices of choice. I have spent a bit of time in the ME, never had a problem with anything until I had to speak with my hosts and they heard the American accent, when I didn't have to speak, my NZ passport spoke for me. Had no problem getting hash and drink while there, until I spoke... Afghanistan has got to be one of the most beautiful countries I have ever been to, people wise and scenery wise.Same here.
The middle east is off the table just because of the cannabis and alcohol policy.
Singapore would have me in prison or worse within the first hour of landing there.
Hell I don't even feel safe south of the Mason Dixon.

i don't blame you. it is getting "better", because a few places have legalized. Virginia and Maryland so far.Hell I don't even feel safe south of the Mason Dixon.
Referring to the United States as a "Third World Shithole" says more about the speaker than the country.<Another nail in the coffin lid... Makers walking away from the third world shithole and the paper they print.

I think that's a wise way to travel. Being an expat myself I find it frustrating the attitude towards my yankiness, but I do suppose I can understand the derision from some cultures. Seems to be generational from my experience, the younger generations seem to be more accommodating.I didn't really worry about traveling until I tried to move to another country and found that many people don't like Americans.
Any place that is run by a theocracy is off of my list.

A treacherous and repulsive statement, designed to offend and inflame
no loss at all there.I have my money on him moving to one of those "commie countries"
