We are no longer a nation of states with individual political agendas. . I.E. slavery. We’ve evolved into a nation of people with individual political agendas. While the electoral system protects the rights of minority states, the states in turn don’t necessarily protect the rights of their own minorities. I.E. woman’s rights.
