Sweden’s Coronavirus Approach Not A Model To Copy, Warns Goldman Sachs

https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidn...del-to-copy-warns-goldman-sachs/#7777d6c42aac

it was kind of like jumping into a pool of ice water.

a strange Nordic, "go for it Comrade" approach to social activity.

i still wonder if they might have "gotten it right". BUT -

big BUT -

that involves accepting the simple fact, People Gonna Die.

Older people with the co-morbidities, and Type A blood type, and crappy nutrition.

Sweden did possibly "hurry" the deaths of some of those people.

that in other countries would still be alive.

So that's a heavy judgment call I'm reluctant to make, because it's only REAL if you're talking with the families affected.

like jumping in a pool of ice water, Sweden might have "got the worst over with". Not achieving herd immunity, but certainly minimizing the economic disruption.

which will affect the US FOREVER - it's not like the US will ever pay off its debt. Covid19 took the debt so high, I think it's up to 4 light years. (4 x 6 Trillion)

They had actually paid down some of the 2008 debt, below $4 Trillion. It is now over $7 Trillion and climbing, in the US.

Sweden's approach does seem bold. My guess is, it was not just up to the current scientist on staff.

They had pre-existing plans, like the US.

Of course, Trump threw out all those plans, and didn't listen to all the agencies that are supposed to deal with pandemics (e.g. the CDC).

i think the main thing the Pandemic showed is the total ineffectual ness of all the US gov. agencies that are supposed to protect us.

Sort of like what happened after 9-11, "we need a DHS and a TSA to protect us, and we need to let the NSA do whatever they want."

I hate the government agencies that fail to do their jobs.

They so obviously need to be de-funded.

unless we are going to make a collective society decisioin that it's OK if they're just make-work programs.

why not let all the unemployed rioters have the choice science jobs at the CDC ?

they may not know DNA from RNA, but it's not like the existing CDC expertise helped us when we needed it.

Have to wonder what percentage of the California rental housing is now owned by vulture capital.
With the hand in glove deals between Steve Muchin and Kamala Harris over the robo signing, I
imagine it must be considerable.

If the administration wanted an easy conviction of foul deeds done by the former admin...
Poor humor beats none at all.

Gry, I will believe CvH and his f'in real experience over any damn magazine article. Media Lies aren't worth trying to glean truth from them anymore. At least to me. This is because they have gone full tilt crazy working their master's agenda.

I'm over 65, have type A- American blood, and screwed up lungs from smoking bagweed on a can for too long. This stuff was a set-up and we were scammed IMO. I am not stopping life over it.

No WuFlu here. Maybe Lomatium and Vitamins work. Or being out in the damn sun working. I lost the 6 remaining pandemic pounds, working like a dawg in the hot humid sun all all day today. Pushing heat stroke cause I am an old pothead, but the work had to get done. Feels good tonight.

Those people stuck in nursing homes are sitting ducks for the bug.

Very well put.

"A successful democratic revolution prods these enablers to stop obeying. It makes them ashamed of their complicity and fearful of the social and economic costs of continued collaboration".

It’ll be interesting to see how his demographic and those who care for those people respond to being lumped into the latest attempt to do whatever it is a person would want to classify that as.

It bothers me when I catch someone lying to me, more so with people who are supposed to be responsible.

actually, i hear EXACTLY the same thing from a lot of people.

e.g. Chris Martenson. in his case, it was being a VP for a biotech company - he hated it.

the last 2 interviews at my last job with a military contractor were exit interviews with Air Force investigators. all i did was document fraud that I had witnessed.

i got a real thorough understanding of why the US lost a bunch of F22's when Hurricane Michael visited Florida in 2018.

the parts don't match the documentation - and it gets worse as you go deeper into the system software.

they lost F22's because they were too hard to fix for Air Force techs - even at $330 million each, and with factory tech support on site.

I'm not sure exactly where America's Achilles Heel will break.

But I am quite respectful of the $180 Billion that China spent on Military systems in 2019 - because I know their money went a lot further than it does in the US.
