Don't have the foggiest idea what it is Verite, but I hope I catch it.With 2 torn rotater cuffs, serious drinking can be painful. An alcoholic IV sounds like it's right up my alley. Do you think the hospitals stock Cabo Wabo tequila.
Ok .. if anyone wins [sorta] it would be Ruosk .. but this is proof you cant google everything.
Its anti-freeze poisoning. Most automobile anti-freeze is about 95% ethylene glycol, an odorless, colorless syrupy liquid with a sweet taste. It only takes a few tablespoons to kill you.
The process is bizarre since the initial product isnt that toxic but as the body processes the ethylene glycol it metabolises into highly toxic items that eventually bind with the bodies calcium to form crystals in the kidneys shutting them down.
By drinking and getting an IV of ethyl alcohol [ regular stuff ] the bodys chems form with them allowing the anti-freeze to remain ethylene glycol and to pass thru the system. Most of the time for good measure they will also do dialysis to make sure the blood is clean.
