Defoliation in 1st,2nd and 3rd week of flowering can enlarge yields,

harvested more than 1,5 kg under 1000 DE Gavita, setted a new personal record..

WOW, how many plants? Was that under just 1 Gavita? OR was there A couple lol. Which strain?

Amnesia Haze and Silver Haze elite cuts 8 plants and
8 Fake GG#4,so all together 16 plants in 7-10 gallon pots...

only one light fixture.. its possible with defoliation, belive it or not..

accepting defoliation technique opened mine eyes if we talk yield.

All plants that i tryed for now positive responded to defo..

Hi dog star do you use other techniques along with defoliation I see some of your plants is supercroped.
Can you post pics of single plant to see how much you defoliate and which leaves you remove? Do you noticed defoliation first 3 week of flower affect strech?

very nice work dogstar,,
i "nfp" and remove leaf but only upto the start/mid of week3 of bloom,
we have found again its variety relative with some loving nf popcorn and offing big fans blocking buds whilst others will "chuck there toys out the pram" with the same treatment and take a couple of weeks to get back on course,,,,,
much respect for those yields,,,,,,s2:tiphat:

Dogstar, you killed it...you beat my record thats for sure!
great stuff... sounds like you dialed in your setup well!

like you i would start def in week 1.. week 3 id only pick a few fan leaves here and there..
maybe just a few last ones in week 5... but all the lowers and popcorn like we are discussing here.. id get rid of BEFORE flowering... but saying that, currently i havent had time and im now in week 2.5.. so fuck this, i need to get off here and into the lab! l8trs

ohh and spannabis was madness.. thanks to HSO i was able to do my do from their stand... feedback was phenomenal..
now back to work
bless

Thanx for kind words boyz,

Maimunji you need to peel down all fan leafes, you can live actually on top those ones
first few,but all others you bring down, for about week leafes will grow back and
then you need to made again same.. also repeat in 3rd week and you are good to go..

plants will fill with lot more buds as lower parts get more light.

Yep,i used supercroping but that is cause of hight so i shaping them around light
in shape of bowl.. in that way i get most from light and in yield.

Ok more questions comes in my mind. Do def. work best when canopy level is very packed like you say with 16-20 plants. under single light? Do you noticed they drink less water after defoliation? Do they need less feeding also? I like to grow 4 big plants in 4x4 do you think def. will work in my case?

it will work well with 4 big plants yes, and as far as i can tell, they will drink the same, less feeding no.. stick to how you do... just that way you get much more light into the canopy..
ive heard from numerous people that big fan leaves lower down suck more energy than they can produce... basically you are pruning the plant and giving all those bud sites the chance to develop properly

So I was looking at an led grow on instagram. They took every single fan leaf off at the very beginning of flower each day. Leaving only the leaves that form on the bud sites so basically trim/sugar trim.. No light was blocked at all from hitting the lower sites, there was no larf at all even at the very bottom.

I might want to try this, they seriously left every single bud site to!

Post the link to Instagram please.

I trim a good amount from the bottom in the first week of flower, then just do little touchup trims until about week 3, week 3.5 with my SSSDH.

So the instagram I saw the videos and pictures on is lilnic_farms . It shows the massive defoliation and how they are currently doing. They aren't done yet but you'll see his good results that I'm talkin about!

Just started mine to. Danky808

Here they all are, thanks again T!!

Pic #1,2 is King Bubba 45 days in.

Pic #3,4 is Amherst Urkle Dog on the left and Corey's Three Kings on the right that are hooked up to hydro halos. AUD on the left is 21 days in, C3K's is 17 days in.

Pic #3 is a Blue Dog bud also 45 days in.

Pic #5,6-Now I'm not saying this is the correct way to grow but it is the way I grow and it works well for me. I trimmed the C3K back hard at day 17, I'll give her another 5-7 days and if I see anything else that might need a touch up it will get it.

Pic #8 is the tree trunk of the Coreys 3 Kings.
