For my black out green house i'm putting 2" of EPS board , 4" of sand with a PEX field , and 3" of 3/4" rock on top of the sand , what do you think, should I just pour concrete , too ? or will the sand/ rock and EPS board keeping the heat from wicking to the ground be enough to heat the green house via radiant?

why did you set yours up the way it is ., no gravel etc.,

I tend to float around a bit. If I stay here for another season then I will rebuild with raised beds over 1/2 mesh over 6" of gravel. I want to space my plants out way more, so that they never shade each other. I originally thought that since my native dirt is so good, the rots would continue stretching as much as they need. I know realize that I would benefit from better drainage.

I think youre right on the money with the sand, gravel, and buried radiant heating idea. I think it could also double as a radiant cooling system if you buried a water tank for summer.

Im doing the same next year. Less but bigger and from seed. Blackiut all from clone

Id rather pheno hunt in my greenhouse, searching for next years clone. As far as the full term goes, I depend on a uniform predictable outcome.

A seed line is of little value to me if I have to select 1 out of 100 and propagate it via clone.

I like seeds that if you grow 1 10 or 100 , you can find a keeper by anyone's standard with a degree of uniformity , too...

I dont plan on growing 10 packs from a random seed company. Im going to run home made stuff thats been tested already.

I'm sure it'll all be of excellent quality, but I need every piece to look identical. .

I think every grower has to tailor their strategy according to their own goals. i wish i had the flexibility to grow from seed all the time. I definitely enjoy a good tap root.

Like you said , whatever it takes to achieve your goal ...

Most of the members of my collective isn't as picky about that and as long as the nose , head , and looks are there it's all good... those patients don't care about the name...For our members that do ,

I'll be producing top name brands consistently all year round out of the black out on strains that don't produce as much as say a DOG x ChemDawg#4 BX3, SFV BX1 or a Kush Cleaner F2 might do from seed when given 5+ yards...

Thats quite a line up. i don't have access to those genetics. I've been searching for a heavy yield kush that would work well in the ghouse as well as for full term. Any seeds you think are worth giving a shot? also, whats the DOG?

I don't know what the DOG is but I've grown it for a long time and it is a heavy yielding Kush type , if I had to guess though I'd say it is 50% bubba kush.

The problem with it now, after so many years of identical pieces , is that it lacks the nose most people are looking for now with the whole " Loud " trip...so in a joint project with South Fork Seeds, we crossed it with a Chemdog 4 cube line to try and fix that problem...

I have 30 seedlings now to see what kind of variation there is and what kind of plants I can expect from them.

MotaRebel used the Kush Cleaner on a bunch of stuff...I saw he had one called Rebel OG that was Triangle Kush x Kush Cleaner...Or what I think they call Long Bottom Leaf...

My friend who made the cross just calls it Kush Cleaner though , Long Bottom Leaf is the same cross just made by a different guy with the same parents...Very confusing I know. They both are SFV OG x Jacks Cleaner2

This winter I am going to open up the last of my Kush Cleaner seeds and make F2s as well as SFV BX1 and DOG x Kush Cleaner.....I also have some Kush Cleaner crosses I want to look through as well as make F2s of specifically Humboldt Snow x Kush Cleaner.

I crossed the Bomb Threat Kush with Kush Cleaner and made the Farmer's Dream...which is literally the plant I've been waiting my whole life for.....so I hope that more kush cleaner crosses will be similarly successful

how do you control the spread of pollen when you do you're crosses? I've always stayed away from breeding for fear of seeding up crops.

I've never made seeds out doors ,

I supply the male and female plants and South Fork Seeds does them their grow room and we split the seeds and keepers.

Works pretty good for both of us.

That gopher got you good.. Did you use anything to protect the plants? We used 1/4" hardware cloth under all our baskets and so far no issues, but i can see them chewing up the hillside next to the plants.

When you pull that plant are you gonna replace it with something?

Im gonna wait till the plant is all the way dry so I can slow down the gophers forward movement. In a day or two ill pull it and inspect the root zone. Im not worried about replanting. I usually lose one plant a year.

My root balls are "protected" by 1/2 aviary netting baskets, 2'w x 18"h
