thats good news OG

I always have real good germ rates, but its after a ton of practice.

keep us posted ...FJ has some pics of some of his seedlings in his thread that he linked on a previous post.

OG can u tell the more BH phenos or MTF phenos apart yet.

:) not yet... the 2 node on the fastest plant just started... still not enough difference to tell... still not an ounce of stretch, with only 70w of 5.5k-7.5k cfl's at roughly 3 inches away. their happy.

well, i have determined the poor start i had initially is due to soil compaction, these plants like the airy stuff. plan on going out tonight, getting some new soil for em...

how's a 40 perilite / 10 peat/ 50 soil sound +1/2cup blood, bone? maybe no food in the soil, just feed em by hand?

Looks good to me refugee, more perlite outta air it out nicely if thats all they need. What is your current mix like?

my current mix is pretty hot... 1 cups of blood and bone with 40% peat.... for my hunger bag seeds i am about to flower.

got all the mix and ingredients today... i went 4 parts soil, 3 parts perlite, 2 parts organic humus, and a dash of blood and bone. The run off ph was just a tad acidic, perfect. I'll be watching it closely as that blood and bone start to drop the ph and raise it via watering w/ ph up if it drops out of range.

sounds good, but when you say "soil" what type/brand/mix are you referring to.

I grow in soil too, and the ONLY soil I use is Fox Farm Ocean Forest.

the bottom 1/3 of my pots is: 1/3 perlite 2/3 FFOF (ffof already has some perlite in it)

and the top 2/3 of my pots is 100% FFOF (I got that recipe from OG and I swear by it)

the only other thing I add is Fox Farm Marine Quisine dry fert during Veg....and I use FF "tiger bloom" during flower.

I am not familiar w/ the use of bone meal or really anything else that people use to make "custom mixes"...I wish I could help u more there.

sounds like your headed in the right direction tho.

when I start seeds I use "jffy mix" seed starting soil straight ....there are really no additives in it, and it works good to get them through the 1st couple of weeks.

hope that helps bro.

at work, so i don't know what brand of soil or the nute levels (not too hot, i know that), but it is just your run of the mill potting soil, hence the humus

but the little buggers are growing, minimum stretch under 53w of cfl (30w of 7.5k and 23w of 4.5k). One is kinda runty, but it is one with the compacted soil, so it is to be expected...

gunna need a bigger veg area soon, prob 2 weeks. I guess i will cross that bridge when i get too it because i just switched my bigguns to 12/12, dont want to add light leaks by constructing without the right materials.

but so far i am impressed, what a funky bright green they are! i love it.

:( the tallest baby is probably dead.

burned up in a day, no idea why. the 2nd set of leaves is still green but the first pair burned off. a dark brown colour to...

maybe it hit a hot spot

but the others seem very happy

some get jumpy ...some seem like runts....but the chance of finding a good pheno for me has been WAY better than ordering seeds thats for sure. I"m told that its because of the stable MTF genetics in there.

my advice is to NOT count anyone out...I've had a few get real jumpy for a minute, but I'm on top of my grow between 2 and 10 times a day.....so nothing gets real out of hand.

glad u guy are getting successful germ rates.

any more pics???

lookin good over there. OG!

nice ta see some pics too bro!...and I cant wait ta see more.

here are a couple pics of my "monster plant" that I re-vegged, and just finished for the 2nd time.

here is the final days of the original/"first harvest" from seed (BH pheno):

here is the same plant after harvest/root trim/transplant/

...then about 3 weeks to see "new growth"

...then about 6 weeks veg.

...then 73 days flower (this is the longest I've ever flowered anything)

they come down tonight.

(3 moms ready to flower, and will take many clones tomorrow)

I only get 1 or maybe 2 grows if I time it all right before I move.

transplanted the two norms into the new mix and bigger pots. they're happy

keeping an eye on the little one. somehow it lost one of it's first two leaves, so it is a little stunted. expecting to transplant tonight

I had a TFB w/ (4) nodes, and it was one really strange looking plant

mine came up looking normal, but it ended up having a node that really looks like a "KNOT" then (4) shoots came off of there....so strange that I posted pics of it on OG and asked people about it.

a few people had seen some plants like it, but seems pretty uncommon...I'll see if I still have pics of that one.

it ended up being a boy though. It was super healthy otherwise.

nice ta hear that things are coming along OG.

transplanted the last of the 3 last night, probably shocked it a little but it will be fine. Looks like it has already outgrown the mutation... but it also looks like a sativa dom! probably not the MTF pheno, but maybe close.

the other two are working on their 3rd nodes now :) both look to be healthy indicas

3rd nodes are out on the bigger two. investing in a digital camera in 2 weeks, expect pictures then.

definatly indica doms, nice neon color under the cfls, dark under the hps. looking good!

4th node on the bigger ones. putting them outside for about 2.5 hours of direct sunlight...

the leaves on one are droopy like too much water, keeping an eye on it

edit:

yo yukon, question bout the phenos. I definatly have two different phenos here, just judging by the number of blades and secondary growth (branching).

One has very little branching started (just leaf formations no stems on each node) and 7 blades each leaf on it 4th node.

The other one has very decent branching (each branch is about 1/2" out from the nodes now, even the lowest ones) and only 5 blades on each leaf @ the 4th node.

any thoughts?
