Yeah ..they got the cut from some Swami Kushendez guy...some joker who throws pollen around like he knows what he's doing in America....took the cut all the way to the Dam on his bike back in 19..uh...1999. Yeah that's it.
The male I have for the F2's is a fantastic gent...picked from several males..he has the leaf structure of TO and the branching trait of the BMR. So far the keeper mothers are all looking good. The decision which one to pollenate will be made later in flower to make sure I pick the right girls.

Yes...but it's like 60% are now fixed..and the other 40% are still throwing out scruff. However it had occurred to me that I did two TO x BMR pollenations. The first one I used the small phenotype BMR male pollen...on the second pollentation I used both phenotypes of male pollen...the second pollenation produced much better offspring. Example..the Stankie cut.
But yes...it looks as though I got what I wanted on at least 60% of them...

Here's another female from the second pollenation.
Here's the TO x BMR's from the first pollenation.....way more Thai looking and the flower development is 80% Thai. Super great smoke..but not a keeper.

The 'center growth' is definitely TO isn't it? Down to the 'curly' leaves in the first couple of days.
That deal could fill many hours trying to fix it - it would be fun to watch and read on a journal perhaps? Bring out all the big guns - Boron, Selenium, Zinc (LMAO) and can we rule out Manganese? Ever?

I was going to take some ground up magnesium and then soak it in a mild acid ..like vineger..and then spray it on my plants..for a MAG boost. Good idea huh.....kidding for those of you who think I'm serious.
I think I'm on the right track with the TO x BMR. The F2's should be better and the backcross to TO holds promise as well. This is where combining parental and sibling genetics from different breedings comes in. My goal with this plant...an above average potency producer....high yielding,high potency,great bag appeal,short flowering time,and beauty.

Hi, I jumped to this last page and I saw this post. I have a question, I have a Camellia that has high demands for iron. When you say iron filings, where are you getting them from? I have a hard time keeping up with its demand. I think the flowering suffers for it.
why not just water it with a brewer's yeast slurry?
