So whats the deal with a European moving to Cali to grow weed?
well, it would be like me n my boys showing up in your home town , from way across the pond and trying to run shit, lol. Might not work out or it might, but one hell of a gamble none the less. :)

Moving for the weather alone was enough to convince my partner to up sticks and go...

could rent my place out here so if it never worked out we could come home...

could come with $50K easy...

anyone know any foreigners that have moved to cali?

this isnt the first time i have asked this but its the biggest response i have seen to a topic on this subject so i thought i would throw it out there :D

i'll rent your house as long as i can grow in it :)

^^Never understood that. I've never done a crazy 100K grow anything, so maybe we're on different scales. But I started growing with multiple thousand watts and high plant counts. No big deal.

As long as you leave the sub panels to the professionals (or just plug and play yourself), I encourage everyone I meet to go big as shit on their first grow, if they so desire.

Hidden apartments closet grows with weird-ass venting configurations and hidden bubbler systems under a 250 watter are way more difficult than a bare bulb 10K room IMHO. I swear to Christ I spent half my teenage years making an impressive blueprint of my studio apartment grow, lol. My bare bulbs room are simple as hell. I had an emergency once and had to have my brother keep the girls alive for a two full weeks. I was not available to speak to him and explain what to do. He's never grown a tomato and knows nothing about weed. He researched the net for like an hour and figured it out.

I think sometimes we like to pretend we're doing nuclear physics to help self-justify our hobbies/income in some weird way. Organic kush to the ninth power + 305 squared vagina, whatever man...we're just growing out a few weeds here...

Ha, well hot damn if you had the opportunity to start with multiple 1k lights in your own sequestered studio then more power to ya! I suppose that makes me a hobby grower turned horticulturalist then. Either way the build up was done through necessity of stealth, I hear federal prison blows.
Knowing your plants is certainly a mix of science and know-how, not quite the type that NASA would power their rockets with.

Still, in the end you can either be unexpectedly disappointed with a low yield and no techniques or you can strive for over 1 gpw every time being smart with a little bending, training, cutting, well distanced lighting and trimming.

It makes sense to me either way because I wouldn't move up from a certain wattage until I made up to at least the 1gpw mark. I look at it as if I can't get near the 1gpw mark then I don't deserve the next step up because I haven't found the most efficient way. This is difficult on multi strain grows but I enjoy variety so I hope to never be running less than 5 or 6 differing strains.

Sure, they're a bunch of weeds - but a gift of science has given us the knowledge to propagate, harvest, extract and consume cannabis in ways more effective and efficient than man could have ever imagined back in the days where our forefathers really were just growing a bunch of weeds. :dance013:

MOVE TO COLORADO>>>>CALIFORNIA IS BROKE

better yet tell your dad he needs to plan everything for Spain, i mean Cali is alright view wise but Europe blows Cali out of the water any day.

Europe seems to have the safest and most reasonable laws when it comes to cannabis, it doesnt feel like a shark tank either like everything in the U.S. always trying to out do another, id imagine its almost near impossible to get known in Cali now for growing knowing the amount of already reputable growers that have dominated its market, i know if you wanted to get a name for yourself your bud would really need to stand apart.. good luck because i know it would be extremely hard and expensive.

if you ask me the U.S. is broke and aint getting any better, i dont feel comfortable growing any cannabis here period..

i know you are going to Cali either way, but just my 2 cents. if i could move id be in Spain or some where at least in Europe without a question.

maine is great. especially rural maine. shortass summer growing season and bugs that could carry you away. good people if you fit in .anything north of bangor is heaven. alot of people think mainers are dumb . i find that not so . they are low key and reserved and a tough breed. enough said as i am getting homesick hhaa

I can tell by the way you have been talking lately that you been thinking about coming back... :smoke out:

I do not understand how these two statements jive, haha.

Maine is one of the most postcard-beautiful places I've ever seen. But when ya down to it, 99 percent of the time you step outside it's uncomfortable. Either the bugs are shit or it's unbelievably bitter cold. Driving through Maine with the heat on is amazing. It's that stepping outside shit that sucks..

If your thinking of moving to Cali for that purpose, then money should not be an issue first of all. It wouldn't hurt to get a lawyer familiar with this process to get sound legal advice.

A woman/man team is the best way to start also. Women have a way of opening up doors of opportunity where many men can fail.

How about NY state?

Looks pretty lenient, as in slap on the wrist first time caught, thoughts?!
NY is not lenient. I used to say use the NORML guidelines only as a broad overview. Now I don't even recommend looking at them. They literally don't matter at all.

When you get popped, there are so many incidental charges that you will invariably pick up that the standard cultivation penalties are completely and utterly meaningless.

Ohio is one of the most lenient states in the US if you look at NORML. In reality, it's one of, if not the, harshest state in the Midwest. We have a 70 year old who had two plants doing time here, as of last month.

I thought NY state was pretty lenient? Amounts under 25 grams is a 100$ ticket, much better than NJ, or Conn., at least where over 50 plants gets you 5-10 years.

I read of some guy getting arrested with 217 plants and a handgun. Didn't go to jail, but thats all hear say.

Anyone have links to court outcomes for cultivation in NY state ?

(NYC is too expensive to live for me right now)

hmmm...Trinity.....not the worst place for growing, garden size is limited by this years latest moratorium, if you can afford 30 acres in Trinity you can be quasi-legal. Stay outta Butte, 160 acres needed to grow 99 plants. Big backlash is showing in more and more towns and counties this year. the state is moving backwards in a big hurry since prop 19 $hit the bed....
