Thinking of moving to Cali to grow weed, legally... Where do i even start?

I haven't seen anyone else ask, has your hubby even grown before?

you sound young, very young. I'd say the failure rate in the current remnants of the 'green rush' is probably >90%. Its nice to tell yourself "I'm that 10%" however there's generations of families that have been doing this for decades that are already in place and are already doin tha damn thang. They have learned the lessons that take years and thousands of dollars to learn. Trust me, there are LOTS of them.

If your hubby loves growing and is very passionate about it, by all means grow your ass off and smoke that shit. Just don't be expecting to move out into your own pad and get a new car and live the American Dream off growing weed in cali.

whats the most legal way to do it? i dont wana get caught up in anything, i have a daughter... :\

the most legal way is to NOT do it. Even with 100% compliant paperwork you can get dragged through the courts at your expense. Its not exactly a fast process. If you are suspected of not being compliant, the general policy is charge with the crime and let the courts sort it out. If you couldn't bear your daughter seeing mommy in handcuffs you should just start papering the town you move to with job applications because growing weed shouldn't be your job.

the only reason I mention that is because obviously you are interested in the 'business' end of it and that is where most of the attention from law enforcement is at. Personal grows dont matter, thats small potatoes, but if you're payin your mortgage with cash and can't explain the new volvo (you know, cuz the kids) you might be looking at a sticky situation.

california is no doubt a gorgeous place, not to mention herb paradise, but it is really not the best place to live. like others have said high living costs, EXTREMELY flooded herb market, second highest unemployment rate in the country only behind its neighbor Nevada.

i have a buddy out in cali who moved there to grow for a living and the only money he can really make off herb is doing trim work and bringing pounds back east. If you want to move out to cali solely for weed, good luck.

I also had a friend who took a really unique cut he was flipping for 1600 a qp in the east try to bring his shit to cali. came back after about a year because it was just too damn expensive to live there. and this guy grows some of the best herb i've seen.

either way, you should weigh your options and look at the big picture like housing, possible jobs, etc. before diving in.

if you do make it out to cali i wish you the best, there really are some awesome things to see out there.

^^ WTF. if somebody tried to flip me a z for 600 i'd laugh in their face. 350 is expensive enough for top shelf IMO. i've lived on the east coast all my life and the highest i've seen a zip go for was 380.

I'll take all of them... LOL . Yeah im coming to CALI , But just to kick it rub elbows an learn from the Pros . My brother just bought a house out there his wife is stationed there . lets see.... first off yes, we are young. myself being 20 and him 21. weve just started our growing recently, but my husband [[mck2k2]] has found his calling in life growing.
second, and very important: growing would just be a hobby of his/ours, not our main source of income. ive already got a job taken care of for when we actualy move out there.
and heres a good question... whats the best way to get "doctor's notes" so we can grow/smoke? whats some of the key phrases to use when talkin to the doc?
and thanks for all the advice everyone! :]

You tell them what your medical condition is, present your medical records supporting this, and tell them that you are interested in trying medical marijuana to help alleviate the symptoms of your medical condition. :tiphat:

FWIW, I do home and warehouse legit grows in CO. The basements are starting to look good again.

It's my calling too, and the state just made us go through a 10 year criminal backround check, IRS, and student loans just to keep our legit jobs. It cost me about $800 to just keep my job.

I'm not saying forego your passion at all, just think hard about how you want to do it. It's SO competitive.

Cali, What What!

Learn to grow weed. Fuck up a million times. Then grow the best shit around because you have made all the mistakes. Personally has worked for me and many others.

Or follow one of the recipes on here and not know what is actually going on with your plants...it might come out good, might not.

All for the love, never all for the cheese. Maybe Island Sweet Cheese.

#1 get paperwork records from any "normal" dr. Have you been to the dr. At all in the last couple of years for anything? Car crash, broken bone, twisted ankle, pulled back muscle? (early 20's I assume no cancer, aids, arthritis)

#2 take said paperwork to any of the herb docs you can find anywhere.(do a little cost comparing, they range in price). As someone else said, talk to the doc n tell them you want herb cause you (don't like pills, still hurt, can't sleep, can't eat, whatever)

#3 stop at grow shop on way home n buy a ton of stuff, how much and what depends on what you are trying to do.

#4 get seeds or clones from (up to you)

#5. Go home n set your room up

Switch 4 and 5

#6 grow , have fun

Good luck

*read as much as you can on this site, it has an amazing amount of info

Just go to a chiropractor once and have his secretary write a note as
to what is the matter with his back. (On their letterhead)
Then take that to a pot doc. (Medicann or whatever)
Easy peasy.

If your husband doesn't use marijuana for medical relief then he should not be hiding behind a medical law... That said, California recognizes other reasons besides pain to allow for the medical use of marijuana. Maybe he uses the herb to alleviate anxiety or depression?
