My entire family of five has their (non-RFID) passports, and in a safe place.
But one needs to have a safe place to be accepted in that equation; more than needing to go, it's equally important to have a place to be 'received.'
I haven't flown in several years now, and have little desire to at the moment, though I currently have sufficient air miles for free tix.
I haven't been convinced that all of the measures that have been adopted here now are related to concerns about terror, anyway.
As I mentioned above, I've seen far too many biker and hippie chicks singled out and searched for me to believe that this is strictly being used to find explosives.
But this thread was posted as much as a 'heads up' for persons who might be travelling through Sky Harbor, and who might make the major mistake of thinking that quasi-conventional methods of 'carrying' are still as safe as they were yesterday. ;^>)

I have seen them in almost all the major airports I have gone thru and every single one of them wasnt being used. Easy to tell them from the regular scanners since they look like a big giant square box instead of the typical thin rectangle unit that does the mass scannings.
Doesnt bother me too much since I dont carry my weed in a tin, I also cant remember the last time I flew anywhere in the US without weed. Then again I have no criminal record to look up either, if you do I wouldnt carry at all near an airport since they will violate any and all privacy you have in the name of preventing terrorism.
