Here's a thought, no amount of real planning or thinking through has been put into it... If you ever think you're getting busted, or a landlord comes to inspect (24 hour notice of course), instead of tearing your room down and making it look like it wasn't there, why not just stash the plants at a safe location, and replace them with, say, home grown indoor tomatoes. Hydroponic blueberries. If you know how to grow it indoor, it could work.

I've heard of this happening. Some guy around here got "raided" for growing marijuana, and when they raided his home all they found were tomatoe plants in his growroom. All marijuana related stuff was removed and they wasted a lot of time and taxpayer money raiding someone for growing tomatoes... Need an explaination as to why you're doing it? It's a hobby, you like growing your own food. They have nothing.

could work. i mean, it'd be a pain to move 3 ft. high midflower plants to a "safe" location without being noticed, but it could work. you'd definitely have some pissed off officers on your hands and i'm not too sure they'd be happy letting you keep your equipment and what not.

I dig the idea. I've had situations where my growroom was exposed to visitors and I had to hide the plants whilst keeping everything else, soil lights etc. where it stands. Shoving a different species of plant under my growlights would've definitely sweetened the cover-up.

drtask - Very understandable concern. I've always had success moving my babies in U-Haul boxes. You probably know when your neighbors are and aren't home, just try to make it look like you're moving, or at last getting rid of stuff, when they're usually at work. Just use clear tape and seal up the edges good (to prevent odor leakage). Use clear tape, clear packing tape is something most people have. Duct tape, especially colored duct tape, isn't something most people just have laying around to tape moving boxes with and a trained eye or suspicious neighbor may catch that. Paranoid, maybe, better safe than sorry I say. In any reasonably tolerant state such as the ones on the west coast, leo won't take your equipment if they can't arrest you. Eliminate their ability to do that and you should be okay, assuming you're dealing with reasonable leos.

CannaExists - You never know when a decoy plant or two will save you.

This is all assuming you're not being watched of course.

Decent idea but the only problem is how would you know you were about to be raided?? You would need a man inside the exact department that was investigating you. And it would cost some decent money to pay off a cop. And adventually every cop in the department would be blackmailing you for money. And if you don't pay then they bust you.

I grow tomatos, peppers, and strawberries indoors year round for that exact reason. I even have a hole in my rock basement wall for anything illegal that needs storing. It's a sweet setup, I have the house (old) for it so why not?

79towncar - An observant person who knows what to watch for can often know when to (temporarily) call it quits. Watch "Never Get Raided" by Barry Cooper and well, you'll have a good starting point. Having a location within your home to stash the babies is even better, especially if you follow his techniques to fool the dogs! Then it doesn't matter if you're being watched

We've done it. Well, I haven't had to move shit out of my grow...But I allowed a buddy who needed to stash about 80 plants somewhere safely.

I did the favor, but ended up getting mites from him. That was years ago.

pseudo that may cause more harm then good. Fileing suit against a department brings soo much harrassment. You will have tickets out the ass and probabily more cops on your case then ever. Its like wakeing a sleeping giant. It's better for the law never to know your name at all. Also if somebody is doing something illegal the last thing they should ever do is to take a department to court.. They will have people in your shit constantly just trying to mess with you. And then if they are following you around and your goin to hydrostores, dealing with shady characters or even just going out to a party they will jump on that oppertunity to arrest you for spite. Best info is just let sleeping dogs lie. It dosen't make and sense to have the police called on you for anyreason legal or not. It's best to just operate in the shadows and never look to the police for anything, especially when you yourself is doing something illegal.

I have thought about comanion planting some tomatoes and various smelly good flowers like jasmine. Just have a jungle surrounding the plants of nice vine like flowers and and ground cover. Then when you yank the ganja, you still have your "legal" Jungle in there. It is a good idea because it would make all of the evidence (power usage, stink, nutes, soil etc.. )


I like it, not to mention that the overall plant health is better when they have a variety of species to interact with.

some things to think about...

dont forget to keep a clean computer...
dont leave grow documentation, bean stock txts, gypsy nirvana order confirmation emails, cookies, instant logins, jpgs, or bookmarks. set browsing history to zero.

collect a list of bookmarks for non cannabis related sites like www.seedsavers.org and www.gardeningpatch.com

get rid of all old, caked with resin, labeled nug jars like NL08 or cindy04 with other info like 23.7 and 19.3 which might mean? nug jars are cheap anyway

scour the place with a vaccum for dead pot leaves and seeds, toss the dirty vacuum bag in a dumpster at some dark apt complex at 11 pm.

cardboard and papers like white poster board for reflection soak up the smell and need to be tossed. lights and tempered glass can get kind of dank smelling after a while too.

Check your bookshelf for shit like "deluxe marijuana growers guide" cannabible 1,2,3 and big book of buds 1 and 2 etc. toss the high times and weed world mags

remove ferts that target mj growers...know anyone growing peas, eggplant and peppers with cha ching to enhance resin production? heheh. re container stuff like that into miracle grow boxes or non descript plastic containers.

keep your containers clean odor free and clear of dead debris and dried up roots from cannabis. its easy to get lazy. biological sample is easy as hell to determine nowdays. dont forget your manicuring gear caked with hash...and that digital scale covered with resin

Have a supply of vegetable and flower seeds. hell maybe you were in between crops

keep mj seed collection off site in a fridge miles away. always another day if shtf

friends will love to keep your moms or flowering girls if you toss them an appropriate thank you. but the last 2 friends ive asked to temp store live plants were people ive known for 20-30 years...REAL friends not doods, thugs or gang affiliate.

just shit to think about... stuff you dont think about until you KNOW shit is up and you realize how dirty you are.

If youre gonna get raided your not gonna have any idea. Them cops kick in the door so fast before you can even think youre gonna be in handcuffs. Nobody knows when they are going to get raided thats why it happens. Unless you have a police snitch theres no way to know. Yea you might know your under survalliance but you'll never know the exact day they take the door. And all the time it would take to pull everything and re-plant vegetables?? This is never going to happen, your not going to have time especially if you have a large grow. This is just a dream world scenario. Anybody who thinks they have enough time to replant vegetables before they get raided probabily never has been involved in or seen a raid. Its just not practical. Unless you have a police snitch who gives you a tip a few days in advance this is just a dumb idea. Also your gonna need a place to keep all these growing vegetables and equiptment to house them. And your gonna need a way to dispose of the pot plants. Theres no way a dog isn't going to find your stash of plants if its hidden in your house. It's very hard to beat dogs. This will not work.

For this to work wouldn't you need to constantly have tomatoes growing?

Anyone remember the guy on here who had his land lord call him and ask if he could come by and check everything out because he had problems in the past with tenants growing things other than house plants? He was torn between ripping down his grow or not. He finally did, and when the landlord came by he basically knew the guy had a grow and was pissed off when he didn't find it.

In the case of a suspicious land lord, better safe than sorry, IMO. Dreads down to the floor and a tie dye shirt on growing tomatoes isn't necessarily convincing either (exaggerated, but you get my point)

If the landlord thinks you are growing bud, tear down and get a new place. Leave a parent's addy or a PO box for your forwarding addy. Take every legal precaution that you can to keep him out of your apartment until you are gone.
