Think its time i give up

Well for a few years now I've had the same problem with every grow.
Little brown spots that look horrible and stress me out to see on every plant every grow.
I'm not exaggerating either, this must be the 3rd year it's been going on.

I've followed all advice and still it happens. I've changed soils and feed.
I've started ph adjustment even though I'm in soil and never did before.
I've given calmag even though my water is full time of calcium.
I've steam cleaned and disinfected. I've brought all new equipment and changed room I'm growing in.
I've tried it all and nothing has worked.

The only thing that's been kept constant is my water supply, so I must have bad tap water. It's all it could be.
I ain't willing to go buy special water everyday, so I guess it's game over for me....

Unless anybody else has any other suggestions?

Peace

Try coco maybe, it's a bit more forgiving as far as watering goes, retains oxygen really well too.
I'm probably only telling you stuff you already know, but there's many quality threads for coco growers, you get the benefits of soil, plus you can treat it like hydro.
Failing that, maybe treat yourself to a ready made set up, dwc or the suchlike. You could try a couple of little systems, 1 potters just to get your eye back in.
If you have a dehumidifier, you get essentially RO water from that, can get ones doing 10 litres per day if you need them.

Are you sure you do not have bugs???? I had thrips and spider mites ruin a few crops, and they could only be seen with USB microscope, really zoomed in. I got them from leaving some plants outside for a week or two than bringing back in. Everything was ruined.

If it's a water problem...try an RO....good luck

I'd do this before giving up...

I'd suggest just doing a small grow of one or two plants using store bought RO water..get some 5 gallon water jugs and get a bunch of water at once so it lasts awhile.

I'm pretty sure it's not bugs. I grow from seed mostly, very rare I get clones although I have 3 on the go right now.
I search all the time with micoscope. Plus plants get sprayed twice with miteywash. Like I say I've cleaned with steamer, disinfected and when it still happened I brought all new gear and grew in a different room. Same results.

Coco may be worth a shot, I've never tried but always fancied it, can't do hydro because of the noise. Can already hear a gentle hum coming through ceiling when fans are on.

My grow shop don't sell r/o, where else would sell this?

It's just stressing me out, each grow I try a different bit advice.
Don't get me wrong I still get crops and they ain't too bad. It's just the state the plants get in a few weeks into veg.

Is there enough fresh air exchange?

I have had weird symptoms when the air circulation and exchanging isn't good enough.

Ebay and amazon have decent RO systems that make 100 gallons a day for about 100-150 USD.

Also, it could be a fungal problem. You could spray with kelp extract and that should help, if it is a fungus. Also, if it is a nutes deficiency, a spray could solve it.

Water, fungus or nutes def, is my best guess.

Whats your ph, nutes and air circulation like are you using a res or tap, what strains heavy or light feeders just a couple things we need to kno...

Sounds to me like you have Mg deficiency due to pH issues, but without seeing pics it's impossible to say.

Giving up is the easy thing to do. Persevering and figuring the problem out is the sole characteristic needed to become a good grower. Problems arise, you diagnose, you solve the problem and you move on.

A little more explanation:

I use Sea Green as a foliar feed and it acts as a barrier against fungal problems. I also live in a dry area, so I don't get fungus or humidity problems.

You could look into buying a fungicide. Your local nursery should have something. Mention brown spots on your roses.

I see you are in soil. So your water use is probably minimal. So you could use bottled water for a while to see if that clears up any problems before investing into a RO system.

I forget which deficiency brown spots mean. I think Potassium (K). Which you could solve by a foliar spray, for a quick solution, OR by a soil amendment.

i been having same problem and it was due to shit high ph tap water full of calcium causing mg to lock out ,,check your pots for chalk ..

i bought water from tesco called ashbeck £2.10 for 6x2 litres or £1.10 for 5 litre bottle ,it has the lowest mineral content from the major high st stores ,added epson salts and its gone back to normal ,,my next move is a ro filter off ebay for £49 quid ..

dont give up ,,get even :comfort:

Lol I ph to 6.5 every grow for past year, I've used calmagne+ and other potions.
I've been trying to sort this for a very long time. I do not give up easy

I have had weird symptoms when the air circulation and exchanging isn't good enough.

I vent heat out through window and the other window is open all the time. It's not a small room. The tent never gets above 28c and the room is couple of degrees cooler.

Yep fungus was one of the things I suspected a couple of years back. I got rid of my tent, fan, extraction system and got new stuff.
I cleaned the whole room with first an antifungal soap, then I steam cleaned it before I put the tent back up.

I've tried 2 different brands of nutes with various levels of feeding.
I also think it's something in my tap water. I have a friend locally who grows and he gets the spots as well but it don't bother him because he still gets buds. As do i, I just don't like seeing ill looking plants.

...coco hempy buckets ftw, so fuckin' brain dead easy even i can do it.

if you give up you just lose, so don't surrrnder, just change your style.

...btw, hempy buckets are a passive form of hydroponics that doesn't require any pumps, which means it is as quiet as a soil grow.

Ph is 6.5 going in, this has been going on years so all strains I've grown.
Nutes I'm using Plant magic soil range with calmag+ and I'm also using bioheaven although I've stopped that now. I'm in the matching plant magic soil. Although I've tried different soils and feeds same result. My air and humidity are fine.
These are all things I've got right over the years trying to end these brown spots.
It's gotta be my water.

Yeah I've already decided I'm gonna go coco next grow with bottled water.
I don't think people understand how long I've been fighting this for. I've done a few diaries on here over last couple of years.
All had the spots and I've tried every bit of advice given for nothing basically.
