I figure our species and our nationalist hubris earned a glow-in-the-dark phenomenon a long ass time ago.

All of life is temporary. All existence is temporary. And unapologetic huge-ass egos and delusions like American Exceptionalism don't help to extend that any.

And who knows? There might be some sort of twisted satisfaction in being present to watch a long-overdue karmic come-uppance delivered. Even if it's the last thing most of us see.

And those people with the money or prestige and status to allow their continuance for whatever time in a lined bunker in the Blue Ridge or Rocky Mountains, post apocalypse? Imagine their grand delusions as to think that's even survivable, let alone mentally healthy in ANY way..

Imagine seeing the same sold-out, stuffed shirt, disingenuous, hollow, barely human faces every day, and none other, for the rest of their limited eternity, hidden away on a planet that's only survivable for a short list of species. Locked into long term nuclear winter. Imagine the in-breeding to come.
