Yup. Just veg'n with the 400's.
I have some 600w dimmables on deck. With the warm temps coming, I know I'll have to dim em every now and then. I'm not sure how much GiGi likes the heat...

This is my first mono crop. Not a bad strain to do it with.
GG4 has been a perfect plant for my situation so far. Very fast veg'n branchy girl. Supposed to have a healthy stretch too. Another plus for me. She seems to be a good yielder, so I'm interested to see how she'll do for me.

I'll be happy with any successful harvest.... but I am shooting for an elbow per bed. That'd be 4 zips per plant, which sounds reasonably doable. It's also still below 1gpw. We'll see how much bigger they can get in the next week or 2.

Lemme know what you think
I think you'll crush that goal by quite a bit !!!

you've got alot of root space for them to stretch out in & GG loves her root space & shows it with bigger yields !!!

are you going to be reusing the soil after this run ? or is it tossed afterwards ?

:respect:

I see what you did with the beds now - wasn't quite how I was visualizing it my head, but that makes perfect sense for the space you have to grow in. Very nicely done, brother! :respect:

@ Dans - he could recycle (reuse) these beds without any issue as long as he doesn't add any more liming agents for the next 3-4 cycles...there should be enough calcium / mag and pH control in the mix for that length of time - especially if he went with the pro-mix because they lime their mix as well for pH purposes.

Although, just like he did with this bed - there will likely be a need to use a rich compost "layer" around the plants when the next round is transplanted in place. But this would be the more prepared equivalent of "top feeding" - except using a compost as the provider vs using raw amendments and scratching them in. The compost will be much more effective and will provide nutrition much more readily as well as fostering better microbial activity...

I'd honestly like to see him re-use the beds...it can only improve with age as the microbial populations flourish.

Looking great as usual Marlo, had a question though. Is this the same room as before, cause i thought you were running 2 600's at a time on your modified pulley system? None the less looks great man I'd love to get my hands on some GG#4 didn't realize till now you said you were just vegging with them doh...........

budman, hotboxes, brotherindica, Thanks for comin back!

Hey Dan, I wasn't planning on reusing the soil. Never done it before. But I'm thinking about it. I don't want to toss it all...
Although, I also don't want to use it on the next run and wish I hadn't.... We'll see

I'm hoping the added rootspace works out. These girls have plenty of room to get comfy. I just hope its enough veg time to get a decent average. As of right now, the only thing the girls have been getting is water, Great White Shark, and molasses. I will probably water with Budswel in flower.

If I must, why not EWC/sucanat teas? I find them best in an organic amended soil.

I probably will do a couple teas along the way... Possibly one in the next couple days to get things going.

but the majority of the time, its gonna be just water

Hey Marlo - talk to Lapides about his beds and how he is progressing with them. Sure he could share some useful information with you without having any sort of particular bias as to the methodology...

I love the beds, good thinking!

I hope they work out well. I've been wanting to do this for a while. Hopefully the girls reward me for the extra legroom

Wsup b00m! It feels good to have the room cranking again. The walls have been lookin bare around here, lol

As the late and great DHF would say...I'm pulling up my bucket!

Subbed.

Welcome Jnugg! get comfy

Amazing work!!! What strain sparked this creative set up?

Many strains over may years, lol.
Been doing vert scrog for 6+ years and never looked back. Been thru a few different setups, and eventually decided to put the plants right on the wall. Mainly cuz I wanted to get my plants as far away from my lights as possible.... works great for me.

I've never been a "vert" guy ..... but your room has me thinking
the only thing that would worry me would be the heat from bare bulbs .

one thing i noticed too .... is no catch trays for runoff , are you just feeding enough to saturate the soil with NO runoff ??? i'm a coco guy , so i'm of the mind you need runoff . but i guess that ain't so in soils .

Nice soil beds Marlo. I also grow organically but am using large rectangular fabric pots. they are marketed for growing potatoes. I'm guessing your burlap breathes a bit better though.
