When I first went to Steamboat in the 60’s, there were a few buildings by the Christie lift and that was it. Used to stay at the Harbor Hotel in town, that was when we had a little more doe, if not we stayed at the Yampa motel down by the river. Couldn’t beat it, $20 a night split 4 ways.
Haven’t been there for a while but it is one of my all time favorite mountains.
