@Tanzi: Biology is a discipline of natural science. If you mean by biology the 'life out there', that's what science tries to explain. So yea, biology and science are interlaced and have only to do with one another.
On the other hand, if you're talking shamanism, esoteric, or magic... maybe you shouldn't recommend 'silica (Si)' (besides, that's two scientific expressions, although the latter is wrong and means silicon, not silica, silicic acid, or silicon dioxide) but sell voodoo plant-dolls and advice to always stir the water counter-clockwise. Tin hats may be a good choice too... electrosmog and aliens, you know...
The only buds I know which contain considerable amounts of silica are those laced with sand (quartz sand is silicon dioxide) to make them heavier and more shiny
. But that's probably not what we want, right?
Bud rot on the other hand is often caused by a fungus called Botrytis cinerea whose spores fly around in the air and don't creep up from the roots through the plants into the flower clusters. The reason why it starts inside the buds is the higher humidity, stall air, and lacking air circulation; a perfect breeding ground for microbes. If you would concentrate more on science than swearing you could have figured that out by yourself...
Silica may be beneficial for plants, though we don't know much about it nor how plants 'metabolise' it. It plays a crucial role in soil free cultivation but how and why, we do not really know. In normal soil, there's no point (my opinion, not a proven facts AFAIK) in using silica on plants... using horsetail tea on the other hand (along with comfrey) certainly is beneficial; presumably due it's high silicon content but that's just an old wisdom dating back maybe half a century (the silicon stuff, the use of horsetail is way older) and that relation has never been proven I think.
There's a lot of half-wisdom out there, and you Tanzi, do your best to spread it. Science could be wonderful, but folks like you just don't think it's any good. No problem with that, go to church, believe in prayers, use holy water on your plants too, but just don't try to use science to explain your 'miracles'.

Though... stress might also do some good, not in terms of quantity but quality. Folks use PGRs to simulate insect attacks and stuff to 'increase crystals' (LoL), you just got a 'treatment' for free.
With a few nice weeks ahead, they may get up again. I've rarely seen a plant as tough as cannabis.

Man, those outdoor plants got soaked this year. We got 100 year old record rainfall amounts for the day. It was only just over an inch, but this time of year is normally pretty dry. All the Cannabis growers are bemoaning the weather. Luckily, I have my indoor as a fall back position.
The Oaxacan is fading fast now. I didn't ever think it would lose its dark green color. There are very few white pistils left. It has purples, golds, green, and brown. I could see how it could all cure various golden brown hues and be called a Highland Oaxacan Gold strain.
But it is no where near as the brightly colored as this Aussie strain, with its gold, red, and green. The colors in this Gypsy Nirvana Thai Stick x Neville's Haze x Mullumbimby Madness plant are the colors of the Rastafarians.
Looking forward to the S.E. Asian intense and focused high.

The skinny Bangi Haze is the only Bangi Haze with some buds still upright:
One more week, and I'll be harvesting before that next rain. If I'm lucky, I'll have the possibility of two more weeks to judge ripeness.
This plant caught up and now looks more ripe than the fat leaf Bangi and all the rest. The Nepalese Jamaican has at least 3 weeks left. NepJam started first, but is a more drawn out flowering. It is going to have to be better than Skinny Bangi Haze or SAGE for me to want to keep it.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. It's all about a lot of help from friends who seem like they know what I'm after. I'll post the experience when it cures a bit.
Now I can focus on the GNT x ... I'll stop flushing, and give a bit more nutrients to bring it home. It could be many more weeks yet. It seems to be making another push, and filling out with much more noticeable resins.
Ourdoors, the weather has turned back to warm days, cool nights, and dry. So things are looking up.
