The Search for Trip Weed

This is some real deal old Panama Red. Taste is perfume. High is tripped out for the first few minutes and then smooth sailing. Like the old silent pictures jumping from frame to frame. That happened during the first part of high.

killing it mate , looking mint .
Beanz,n, - Thanks for the good vibes.

Yesum - Nice looking sativa bud. Sounds like the high you are getting is really good. Is it a green pheno from ACE? If not, where did you source it from, if you can share? I acquired some seeds from ACE, but it sounds like I'd only like the green pheno.

Here are some pictures of various phenos of the Wicked Weed strain I've been pollen chucking. This one looked like one of the more sativa leaning phenos, but the buds are stacking up real nice:

Last night I smoked one of the Wicked Weed phenos from last year, and it was O.K. It had no couch-lock, but was not especially soaring or intense. It did have some really nice flavor. I need something to bring up the intensity and consistency, so the search continues. I'm really looking forward to see what Bangi Haze adds to the genetic stew in this stock.

The real sativa looking male used for seed last year may have given some benefit. I chose it for lacking any detectable myrcene/skunk aroma, but I have been concerned that it may not have much terpene punch to it. I can now report that the children from it are some of the stronger aromatic members of this summer's crop. I'm getting some very sweet and fruity aromas. One is distinctly tart and citric. It looks like it was a good choice at this point. Unfortunately, it was a cutting that was lost.

Keep on Searching...

@ThaiBliss The Panama Red is from Snowhigh. The ACE version is nice but it seems 'modern'. This takes me back to the 70's, though I never had Panama Red back then. You can tell just by looking this is an old line.

The ACE PR has a trippy aspect to it as well. I prefer the high on this one.

Do you have someone always at home to guard your backyard forest? I would be worried some garden gremlins might try to steal your treasures.

I have some Michoacan also from Snow, that I have sampled and it has a similar high to the PR. Right at the first there can be some stuttering effect, where it seems I am looking at snapshots of things rather than a continuous view.

Some Colombian Gold '72 is finishing and have a Mextiza or Michoacan finishing. I got things mixed up but anyways, it is strong, tripped out and soaring. Lots of trips around here lately. hehe

Hi Mtn.,

Mekong looks really nice. It looks to be earlier than my SAGE or Big Sur Holy Weed. It looks about the same as Miss Universe, which is very borderline without a cross to make it reliably earlier for this area.

Unfortunately, thunderstorms hit the area and did extensive damage to my crop. I'm guessing I will lose about 30% to broken branches and future mold from branches now touching each other. Such is life.

Hi Mick - My Purple Haze Thai is giving me a lesson in how tropical it is. It is barely showing flowering while Thai x Col. Gold x C99 and Kali Mist are making seeds. It may not be ripe enough to make seeds before my male Bangi Haze x Wicked Weed gives up the ghost. The SAGE x Purple Haze Thai seeds I have need to be revisited.

Lacocina - That sounds wonderful. I smoked a Johnny Blaze once that had that cedar taste. It was divine.

Beautiful bud! Miss Universe has that vanilla aroma. I can't wait to try it. The buds are developing and looking much denser that I expected.

Nanan Bouclou is KILLING IT in the resin department. Started slow/late, but I believe it will be the most resinous buds I have this summer. I don't care if the buds are small. Those people who judge weed by bud size are fools:

In all honesty, resin density does not mean it is good. However, Nanan Bouclou has well respected heritage. It is Cape Tribulation Australian weed, likely originally sourced from Papua New Guinea. I believe it was crossed with a sativa x indica hybrid from Haiti. Strains from shamanistic cultures are always worth trying. LOL! Southern Star doubled down on this one. I believe Southern Star considers this it's flagship seeds.

A shout out to my friend, Iidiot, who recommended this, grew it, and reported that it could be finished at this latitude. I'm starting to believe him. He loves this stuff, and worked it to get the traits he wanted. I hope to follow in is footsteps.

I grew one plant indoors and didn't think it was strong. It did have some sneaky spooky effects. I barely had a buzz after a few hits. I went to do some woodworking. I was sawing a big piece of plywood with a power saw. When I got done making a cut. I looked up and I wasn't oriented in the room even vaguely as I imagined. It was knee buckling stunning to me. My knees literally buckled, as I almost dropped to the floor. I believe Iidiot wrote that this weed has time travelling type of effects. I felt like I space travelled a small distance. It scared me. I was told that this is much stronger when grown outside, and I am aching to try this stuff.

Great story on the Nanan. 'knee buckling' that made laugh. Glad you did not get hurt with the saw. Have to change your name to 'OneArmTripSeeker'.

One bad thing about coming on this thread is the growing amount of seeds it causes me to buy. I guess it would be worth it if I find a keeper.

All the trippy strains I have mentioned are probably not 'trip weed' really. The first time or few times I smoke a trippy strain it does the most it will ever do in terms of tripping me out.

The stuttering effect I mentioned with the Michoacan and Panama Red is pretty much gone now. Still trippy though. The Acapulco Gold was just a pleasant high the last time I tried it. The first time and a few others it was way out there. Jarilla too.

A true trip weed would produce profound visual or mental enhancement or distortions every time even after having smoked it for some time. Tolerance builds real fast for me on the trippy aspect and I think for others as well.

Hi Yesum,

What was the name of that T.V. show where the one arm man was seeking justice? I'm seeking redemption for losing pure Thai seeds I had that I was able to grow killer weed from.

I know what you mean about trippiness wearing off. Wicked Weed was at that stage at one point. It blew people away the first time they smoked it, but you had to wait a week before it would do the same thing again. It's not that good intense anymore, but has better consistency of effect when you smoke it regularly. Thai Stick was always trippy and strong no matter how often one smoked it.

Here is Miss Universe:

Wow... this sounds amazing!
I'm building a micro-cab (it's 6' tall) for long flowering sativas. This DEFinitely sounds like a candidate.

Truly inspiring, thank you!
