I, no joke, have a tester pheno right now from karma/hortilab genetics that REAKS like a dead skunk. Its a starbud sis x biker og pheno. Its at week 6 right now and it seriously smells like a skunk outside. Like gasoline burnt rubber skunk spray.

I know this is old or older but thought people may be interested in some find ive got ... I was told this guy out east had a true RKS so figured what the hell I'll give her one more shot since others have told me the same with nothing more then another sweet skunk from someone who never obviously smelled a true RKS so anyways i sent the guy what cuts he wanted for the skunk but we started out trading for not as rare cuts first since as always people say they want to be sure i wont whore the cuts out and 6 months or so later i now got this cut and he said its traced back 80 years which i like to know as much about a cut but these unrooted cuts came smelling like straight nasty RKS ass and when first flowering all the neighbors that know i grow even two blocks away can smell this nasty skunk so to break it down i reversed this skunk and pollen was not viable so tried again and same thing some seeds this time but they were white like Loompas headband ...it wont reverse like id like and the owner said same happens when he reversed it so im cubing it now and will see how close i can get to keeping the seeds as solid as possible so im at the point where in about 6 months I'll have seed locked down and have them out to testers but this skunk is a huge yielder also super dark almost black tar resin looking trics when finished so like blue berry will have the blue trics this thing has super dark trics and while trimming you would almost have to wear a mask and your eyes will even water lol and then jarred people can still smell it if its in another room in jars so its that nasty which i remember it being in the 80s when id get ahold of the true RKS so its the real deal so hopefully in 6 months or so its on the streets and as of now just one bx to it which i have it hit to a solid male found in some afghan landrace seeds and is still mostly RKS phenos so its def dominant in even the f1 seed stock so have high hopes to finally have seed for all to enjoy that want a true RKS like ive been searching for since i started growing again in the early 90s and was hard to find even then ...there were closer to RKS strains around but nothing like this bad boy ive had breeders smell this skunk and offer me big bucks but its gonna be a dank maker not a money maker so anyone looking for real dank im about to start releasing other seed aswell for free or close to it atleast just need to make enough to cover advertisment and such but i def want people to all have this RKS that been looking like i have been for years to bebable to get it for trade or free if ya dont have anything to offer up so fingers crossed but i wouldnt have posted if i didnt thibk it was gonna be a go the f1 cross and first bx already is DANKER then anything ive seen in 20 years so KindBudz is my nickname and so I'll be sure to post once i get a way to get them out there but my name will be on them so people know what it is also im naming it tru RKS so its easier for people ive told to identify as they drop but I'll keep people linked up if its not against the rules here for it and I'll keep this post updated for you all watching this thread

Ok for the male to be used for the cubing is an unknown skunk that been going around mich for years but only as meds so whoever has this smoke is hoarding it but i finally after meeting allot of underground breeders found a man thats def oldschool and hates anything sweet ...says its sissy or girly smoke lol but he broke out a bud of some nasty chem that was said to be a chem skunk va which he had crossed to a skunk from way back that was more skunky then anything ive found in years but just didnt have the strong nose burning smell but def is real skunk and not any sweet to her at all till she was smoked so he then says want some seed to throw down and im expectin them to be selfed seed but nope they were regs from the original cross so was in heaven since i wanted to def make f2s but now that i have this true RKS a light came on and while thinking what to use to cube this girl and i dropped the seed and found a perfect male that was also skunky funky and could itself beat out any skunk ive grown in the past 5-10 years so i was using a nasty apollo 13 back when i first crossed it to anything only cause i had a good male that i already got pollen off from so I'll be popping them just for fun but i think this other male will be the one

Yes these were all off from the same mom but he says he does keep another mom at a safe spot incase of a raid or any thing happened it stil would be safe which i also as i may have said have another grow area away from
My main spot where i keep all the old killer moms i dont want to lose so i always have back up also thats my veg space so i with this skunk and a few others i also have here with my floweing plants so i have back up moms lol lost to many keepers
Over stupid shit like a security scare and trashed all and then found it was just a scare so now all my favorites are heald down here and at another location which is where all my moms and veg plants stay so i can have more plants this way legally now so i have way to many strains on my rotation lol

I'll be starting a post soon to get pics up and testing results and show them as the grow but man i cut a clone off the one plant yesterday to start another mom lol and the end where it was wet smelled like the old stink bombs they sold that you threw and would stink up a whole school lmao good ol days anyways its def loud as anything ive ever smelled especially off a cut so ive always found more keepers from these old under ground breeders but this find is the mother load and made me so happy that id be ok to never have to pheno hunt again ok i lied i have bohi testers on there way I'll be def looking into lol Stardawg x ghash and appy ghash so ill always be popping off bodhi and a few others seeds that i test like redeyes but mostly my Own since i always test mine before i share so people dont have herms which ive knock on wood never have since i always work with solid parents but shit happens so im always safe then sorry so ill def send testers out as soon as i feal there all solid which wont be long so this winter is gonna be a dank nasty skunky smelling hopefully by christmas I'll have testers going out for people to start growing i know that you will def need to be legal or in the middle of knowhere cause i use a carbon scrubber and still can smell this skunk down the road a few blocks away as i get closer to my house while walking my dog and i here kids all the time say ewwww theres a skunk around lmao and i want to have a sign made

In the early 90's, a friend gave me a film cannister full of seeds, from Mendo. Really good seeds. Right when I was just learning to grow good medicine indoors.

One of the plants was an Indica I called "PU Licorice Skunk". An Indica, amazingly smelly, and tastey.

See !? This skunk thing is sort of an acquired taste.


Sometimes I think about putting Cannabis in a bag with a dead skunk. Never got around to it though.

It would be interesting to do a double-blind test to see how that affects people's perceptions of the weed. Do people think it's stronger because it has a rancidly overwhelming absolutely putrid dead-skunk smell ?

Im sure if we keep dabbling around with dif hybrids someone, somewhere will pull out some real Skunk genetics like we used to know...or better yet...combine the right genetics to come up with an even more skunkier skunk than we used to know.

Really? You didn't smell sulfur? One of my dogs just got sprayed by a skunk a couple nights ago. It smelled like burnt rubber, putrid burnt rubber. When I went online to check out what to do one write-up mentioned how the spray has sulfur compounds in it which explained the smell. Sulfur is not what I associate with the skunk smell, which I've come to learn is really the roadkill smell and not the skunk spray smell.

It was kind of a trip to smell that and notice how different it was from the skunky weed smell I've always attributed to skunk spray. The smell of passing a dead skunk in the road is the weed smell, dead on. I just never knew if that smell originated from the skunk spraying as it got hit or if it was just the smell of a decaying skunk carcass, I still don't know exactly, but I know the skunk spray I associate with weed is definitely not the same smell as actual skunk spray.

A friend of mine was at the house when it happened and even he was surprised it didn't smell like skunk bud. The next day the patio had a faint smell similar to skunky weed but still nothing like I expected initially.

Another weird detail I've come to associate with skunk bud over the years is that it rarely smells like skunk in the bag. I've noticed the smell most of all right after smoking. There was some stuff I had maybe 6-7 years ago now that smelled so strongly of skunk after smoking that the girl on 1st floor came knocking on my door all panicked and was like "Rasp, I think there's a skunk in the house! I can smell it. Omg, please do something." Took us a couple minutes to realize she was just smelling the weed we smoked.

Closest I've come to finding some proper roadkill skunk in recent years has been Chem Sour. Still wasn't exact but it's been the closest out of a ton of different varieties I've tried over the years.

Only on a weed message board will you find people discussing the subtle nuances of a dead skunk lol. I was just out last night and there was a skunk running around and so many people were complaining, I find the smell oddly enjoyable myself.

I agree, the dead skunk in the road is quite a bit different then the skunk spray itself. There is just something about the delicately aromatic skunk stink as you drive by all I can think of when I smell it is really good weed.

It might be helpful if one of the members with a background in biochemistry could pitch in.

That would be an interesting mission. Take the stinkiest Skunk in the world - and make it STINK MORE, naturally - only through and organic nutrients.


Maybe feed all the bud-trimmers refried beans and then ask them to trim buds and fart in the greenhouse, would that help ?

You all remind me of something i read years ago about tests done on marijauana terpenes and his when testing the terpenes of say dog poo it was the same found in the terpenes of apollo 13 and other strains that smelled of dog poo and skunk was one they looked into and now its funny the sweeter smell comes up because ive found a few skunks that would make your eyes water and nose burn but still had a sweet bottum to it so this is the first cut ive had thats like a dead roadside nasty skunk upclose not like the smell from being sprayed or from a distance also reminds me of chems with the burned rubber which i have a whole stock of an unknow hashplant thats got a burnt rubber to sweet skunky rotten meat smells so its def old aswell but all this makes so much sense when i read the article years ago i figure BS but since i got serious into breeding i find all types of terpene profiles that my dogs will actually hate but if its bluebery or bubblegum or anything sweeter they will smell it but if nasty dank they get away lol which im stoned so have no idea why that was brought up but anyways i def started believing what i read about terpenes like KK strwberry cough i grow a lot of and def smells like strawberries so makes ya wonder if the patch of strawberries he grew it in helped lol i know that blueberry was said to be grew with blueberries but was a lie since i know an old man that hadsince passed ... RIP green... Anyways he was around the first pheno found of the blueberry and other seed with the same smell but weaker and more floral were all grown inside and the seed it was found in was a mix of an acidental breeding of a male from Mexican bag seed that was always nasty weak brick but was prob due the point they knocked off most trics and bricked it up that it was weak which also made it hard to find seed back then but was hit to an unknown sativa dom bagseed so the smoke from both were said to be so different that they almost let the seed go which most were tossed and thsts why only one main bberry clone was kept that was a true sour blueberry which the closest ive found recently is dutch passion bluberry had a pheno i have that was #37 From 50+ seed ran of some f2s i made anyways this brings me to a point .. I thought lol but no ive been crossing all kinds of differnt stuff and together some have come close to the terpene makeup of the RKS but always dried and cured with a sweet undertone and it piss me off so even drying you cant count the smell yet since it as most know changes a lot during cure or even picked to easly or to late which ive got a few that actually are better smelling when picked earlier and some when picked later so its crazy how much goes into a marijauana plant that we know nothing about like the terpenes of an apollo 13 has the same terpene profile as a dogs ass lmao so iv been smoking poop and like it kinda like cheech and chong but i have no idea what my apollo breed is lmao anyways be cool to own a lab i have a start on a lab setup to preserve cultures from all my strains including males i cant let go to always have around incase there always lost but it be so much easier if a person could say what strains going to what strain would make the terpenes the same as roadkill skunk like an old mass super skunk i had was also close to RKS but was a large seed run find and was more like a RKS that a baby shit on and then vomited but man nasty but true it was dank and tasty though so its gross but like woman having that musky smell reminds me of an old breeder elite actually said he loved the smells of some haze or others that were musky lol since it reminded him of a woman and would put him in the mood lol hopefully hes not changed to bubba ass lol now since being Locked... up sorry that was wrong lol and actually that be an easy cross bubba x apolo13 aka bubba shit lmao anyways ya maybe we can get a scientist wizard to help us out but ive been on cloud 9 since i found this skunk and def wont hoard her

My plan was setting up to start a low priced seed company with killer strains only (Before people see a sales pitch I'll add all will be pretty much free anways ill get to that part later in my rambling) i always work all my gear and 100% stress test aswell so there not just made for cash there made for me and my patients and have to be up there with the best or better since theres so many breeders now sadly all about money not dank and most breeders haven't even grown the moms out on most crosses let alone the cross itself there selling so all my moms and dads are topnotch and not anything weak in growth or potency also all killer terpene profiles so all with my males i do as bodhi and have a few main males that i always keep and use a different one here and there when i do a huge run of seed and find a standout man anyways point being these RKS or whatever i call it in the end will more then likely be freebies to show im about sharing my findings to show them off since i dont want to get anymore off topic but have a few others a few "big" breeders have vegged me for and even asked me to become part of there team but i know its not gonna be about anything i stand for prob he more about dollar signs and when i see a unique or rare cut or pheno from seed i would rather spread the love but due to my busy schedule id def have to pass them mostly out through a seedbank so it wil cost a little but def be gems in all of them so i may drop 4 strains a year but there gonna be crazy killer bud makers so anyone wanting to and can document here on the forum let me know if ya would like to be up for a test grow or 2 of a few i have ready now of some old grape stomper male croses i made with a purple elephant dom grapestomper male to some of my best girls they went well with him like my deathberry, blueberry, exudus cheese and an afghan skunk all from pre 90s so all 80s and 90s females so anyways this is a hobby i love and cant sleep at night due to all the dank crosses dancing inmy head but i always or meds to help with that also lol so this for me would be more like showing people like others low yourselfs that its easy to make a cross thats your own and best out most mass produced strains all watered down with more work and picking of the right mates and most importantly a heart, and passion to make the best to share like it use to be many moons ago where we atleast traded cuts and not wanted high dollar especist now days being most are over hyped garbage ...
