What i call American Skunk is the skunk before Holland got ahold of it. It has that nasty Skunky odor to it. Nothing sweet about it and it reaked to no end. I would have a 1/8 in a couple of zip lock baggies and friend could smell it on me everything. This old skunk would REAK. Every time i head out to the woods and get near a Skunk or smell one that has walked through the area. It makes me think of my high school years. If i remember right and i think i do. The stuff i was getting from my uncle. It was on the sativa side. I know me and alot of friends would smoke a ton of this shit at parties and didn't give me that sleepienss. More of a upper high with a good party vibe. Well, I hope for the best and i'm sure this plant will be back soon enough. I know a few people that are working with some seeds from different sources. All from good sources also. Hang-in there everyone and soon enough. Someone will have this "True" strain around again. Once members get around to growing seeds and sharing cuts. They will then know what this old skunk is really about.

these seeds werent from a bag from 1978 !
they were seed of skunk that i sold , smoked and grown before the internet was around!
im almost 40 and some people dont know their ass from a hole in the ground when they talk buds!
been there ,,, seen it ! smokied it!!!
im sharing out of love for the plant! not to make a buck or to prove anyone wrong!
i have no time for ignorance or hate!

I wonder why so many people have clones of sweet Skunk #1's and no one seems to have clones of RKS Skunk #1 or #2? Maybe because they did not care enough to keep the RKS alive? Or is it just that no one has clones from 20 years ago? Whatever the reason it is hard to believe that not one single person has a RKS Skunk #1 in clone form?
I have it in seed form but I don't really want to do the work to make it available again, it is a lot of work and takes a lot of space and time to do it right. I do not want the seeds just knocked-off. And I know I do not want to give it away, it is my work and I will get back to it eventually, when I have the time.


In the beginning, 1976, most SKUNK #1's were skunky as hell.
The smell was just like a dead skunk. I could smell grows outdoors or even early indoor grows sometimes a few blocks before the grow

And yes it looks like a healthy version of SK # 1.
NOW i must clear something up, I have amazing seed kharma (g-13 seeds even)
very amazing kharma. I used to but a quarter ounce of fallbrook. And the guy would be sittin on a quarter pound, picking through it trying to find one seed out of the bag.. Just one seed would have made him happy. I would roll up and buy a bag.
We would be in the garage most times, sometimes I'd be at home.
But i would usually reach into the bag, pull out one bud. And crush it.
5 to 7 seeds would roll out every time.
In like five years, only one or two bags i got didn't have any beans in it...
Almost always the seeds would only be in one bud...I have grown the circa 80's out a few years and lost her later.. I KNOW her inside and out...
Let's call my version I'm seeking "Fallbrook Roadkill Skunk"
and FG's whatever he wants to...
we should get the indica dom and the sativa dom growing side by side...
And we should cross them...

Hallo all, nice reading - I had completly forgotten abouth what you call RKS,

when I started to smoke appox 1992, at that time i came in a cafe where you can smoke cannabis/hashish-

around that time 1992 -1994 I think allmost all of the indoor had that smell you call RKS, many pepol ditten like it and many said that it was because of heavy fertilizing that it smelled like that.

I where at that time not the big skunk head more in to hashish, but i clearly rember the strong piss like odor- that was heavy and you could smell it a mile away.

One time a freind came in a car stuffed with skunk, he came from holland and we were laughting abouth that he had drived all the way with that smell of his car, just when we came out the door you could smell his car, He lived i holland and i rember that the strain/weed was called dragon fly.

Hope that a RKS -type will surface once more, let s hope somtinge turns up

there's definatly an indica and a sativa style rks....i've had them both. i prefer the indica phenos personally but thats only because i like indicas the most....both styles were bomb though and they bothed reeked like a skunk....i only wished i would of saved seeds or got cuts from the growers i knew when i had the chance...that was a long time ago though and i didn't know much about growing and never thought it would come to this.

it will be fun to find a variation of rks, throw her in some organics, give her a good flush, and in my case let them trichomes get real amber.....i liked the stinky tastey buds that just left me crushed the most.

i got another skunk story to pull out of my hat....me and a friend went to the town 20 minutes from here that was flooded with rks....we used to get 1/4 oz's for $60....he had just bought one of them electronic bowls that blew smoke out of a tube...u just pack a bowl then hit a button and mad smoke would shoot out of the tube...he drove a little toyota truck...me and him packed 6 bowls of rks using that electronic bowl with the windows up...i've been wrecked many times but that had to be in my top 5 for being the most stoned i've been lol....i could smell skunk on my clothes the next morning.....that skunk was more of the indica type some of you are talking about...neon/lime green, chunky golf ball sized nugs....but this stuff didn't have much for hairs or crystals....i had a steady hook up on it for many yrs....that stuff was great.

I was not into growing back then but ever since I have been growing I have been looking for something like it...

it was with out a doubt 80-90 indica and like I said on a preivous response to this thread it came from Mexico our places south and from my exp I think it is still out there somewhere being grown in Mexico or South/Central America... grown by people that had no clue there were such things as dutch genetics and probably still dont ... so i dont think it has been bred out of existance... just dont think people are going to find it easily in Dutch/Canadian genetics.

I have some Thai seedsGypsy gave me from one of his thailand trips and some from a trip of his to Oaxaca Mexico, imo I think the smell we want can be found by people traveling the globe asking locals if anything like that grows nearby and then sampling it...



And on a side note I think I now remember a strain being called Polecat(another name for a skunk)...I cant find the old strain guide I once used so I didnt have much luck finding info on it

i've been interested in pole cat in the past, mainly because of the short flowering period and i was hoping it would finish outdoors in my area, plus the chance of it being skunky. never got around to trying it though....anyone around here grow pole cat before?

in the old days peeple just grew out bag weed, and often chose the skunkiest as a keeper. I would think that most bagweed was of Mexican, Central American, and South American origin. Maybe some genes were from SE Asia. Seems that there are a ton of strains listed in these regions. I hold Zamalito with highest standard in regard to his knowledge about cannabis varieties. He has mentioned dozens of possibilities on what genetics may lie in arriving at a true skunk funk. The Sao Paulo Green "Little Star" is a strain that has virtually no hairs whatsoever, as well as some Cambodian,Thai, and Burmese strains. I was thinkin that maybe Big Bud may have been used as well, as it was used commercially with skunk. Big Bud tends to be more leafy. And I remember my skunk buds looking more like a cluster of leaves than tight/dense buds. Maybe the best bet would to travel to places like Mexico (Oaxaca & Alcapulco), S.America (Colombia & Brazil), and Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan to get some true seeds to try an formulate your own skunk.

What indica plants that are around now that produce those golf ball type nugs? Are they kushes? I remember seeing that UBC Chemo produces golfball type darkgreen nugs. So if it's 80% indica then you would have to back cross your hybrid to the afghan or pure indica once or twice then?
