I found this Skunky tale looking for grows with the same Skunk #18 I am currently starting. (Edited so as not to be a free advertisement).
Ok everyone gather around, I want to tell you a story... just pulled the "GDP" off the lines, boxed it up and now I'm starting to trim it. I have suspected for a long time that it was not a GDP and I knew as soon as strectch hit that it wasn't my cut of GDP I grew last year (the grapey purple cut) and as soon as week 6 hit and no grape smells at all and smaller long colas then what I was used to, I was fairly certain it was not GDP. Now that it's done and I'm trimming it and I'm up close and personal with it I am 100% sure it's not GDP.*
It smells like a skunks asshole I mean eye watering, I could remove paint with that smell, the buds are a light green with firey orange hairs. The smoke tastes sweet like a sour hard candy with a nice sweetness, little hints of skunky musk and fruits. Potent as fuck too leaves me stoned staring into space.
I'm 98% sure it's skunk #1. I called the club I got this years "GDP" cuts from, I asked them about the cuts they get and where they get them and they said it's from a guy calls himself MT. I found the link to where to get clones from and it took me to his collective he runs in south Lake Tahoe that had a huge list of clones from MT nurseries and on the list was "Uncle Fester's skunk #1". I sent him mail to ask him about my plant and sent him pics to verify, got an email back saying ya that's its uncle festers skunk #1 and that I quote now "god damn that's a big girl".*
I was sad at first that this massive plant I grew was not GDP, but upon my research and finding out what it really is I'm even more excited. It's a very enjoyable smoke, old school, reminds me of the really good weed I'd get back when I first started smoking. Dates back to 1964 and the Hells Angels and one of the members "Uncle Fester" gave the cut to MT and he has back crossed it to get seed and stabilize. The cut I have is not the 1964, but a modern IBL seed version choice fresh cut choosen by Tto be as good a rep of the original as it can be.*
