I appreciate post like that from you, great details

But the mention of you breeding for the community once again is what's most exciting. It must be something you've pondered your post of recreating OHaze was not long ago

I know you do personal work but it would be a game changer considering your capabilities and the current legalization status spreading. Hopefully you consider and we'll have new legends with fresh genetics

ok... thread got cleaned... was easier to delete 2 pages of crap.... then too sift thru ALL of it to find the good and the bad...
once a thread has spun out of control.... the MOD's do whats best for the thread not the innocent bystanders watching/fueling the fight

if U'r msg got deleted in the mix ... it's NOT directed @ U.... it's just caught up in the mass clean up...

seriously.... not meant to be onesideded...

and obviously this is still a heated topic.....closed still for a bit ...

This is a quote from P_Bud

I’m a very small part of the puzzle, but I was there, so I know the story. I was nervous about coming in here, but I just want to set the record straight. I’m a big history guy, and I like correct history on stuff like this. I moved to Crested Butte in ’87. By 1989, ’90, we were growing a lot of m39, Skunk #1, we had a strain of Hash Plant that was absolutely incredible that I would put right up along with the ones of the Dog Bud. It was smuggled by a girl we knew from Leadville, from somewhere in Asia. She sewed it in her sleeve. We were growing that and smoking P-Bud, an outdoor strain from Colorado that was absolutely incredible. In ’89, ’90 this pot came in called Dog Bud. We were getting a lot of it. We were told it was coming from the California-Oregon border. We were getting pounds of it. It was some of the most incredible indoor that we had ever seen. The smell? You walked into a grocery store with a tiny bit in your pocket and the clerk was like, “did someone hit a skunk?” So we were getting this Dog Bud and we couldn’t believe the looks of it, we’d never seen anything like it. From what I heard, it was called Dog Bud because after you smoked it, it made you roll over like a dog. And “d-o-g,” not “d-a-w-g.” This was back when it was organic, don’t panic, but we were thinking they must have pumped so much chemicals into this pot. We just started calling it “Chem Weed,” just as a joke. So Chem Dog, he put those two together and that’s where it came from. But we were big Deadheads back then and we used to tour every summer, and back in ’91 we went on tour and brought a pound of the Dog Bud with us. And back then in the summer time pot would dry up, it was really hard to find a bag of pot, even at a Dead show. So we brought this out and before the show we were sitting on our car and said the words “kind bud,” and some guy came over. We showed it to him, and he was like “oh, my god, I’ll buy three from you.” Within fifteen minutes, I swear, we had a line at our car of people wanting to buy it. And we sold out in no time. Well, Chem Dog came by and he bought a bag, and then he came back and bought another ounce. We probably charged him a lot of money. We were young and greedy back then. But he bought it he was happy and no one complained. I hung out with him at the show, exchanged numbers, and when we got back to Crested Butte, everyone was pissed we took a pound of Dog Bud out of town on Dead tour, so that didn’t go over well with a lot of people. But we were the ones that were able to get it, so it was kind of our decision. And I’m glad we did it. So we got back to town and sent him two ounces [in Massachusetts] I think, quarter pound, not really sure what we sent him it was a while ago. One ounce had no seeds in it, he said, and one had thirteen seeds in it. We had been looking for seeds in it ever since we had it. Never found a seed in a year of us getting it. And he got 13 in one bag. So that’s kind of where it all kind of started. All the credit goes to Chem Dog and what he did with them. Over those years, of the 91 and the Chem D, which were my two favorites. Did a lot of crosses. Of the first four, one was a male, and he chucked it. He wouldn’t have now. Three of them were keepers: The Chem 91, The Chem Sister and the Chem C, I think it was called. In 2000, he germinated four more, one was junk. The Chem D is probably my favorite for all around taste and potency. It’s pretty special. So, fast forward a couple years, Joe called me and he said, I think there’s a strain called New York City Diesel that I think is actually guys going up to Massachusetts and getting clones and they changed the name from Chem 91 to Diesel, and then New York City Diesel. So they are the same thing.

So the Dog bud that started the Chem lines sounds a lot like the skunk we all look for. Notice he talks about skunk #1 but then mentions the Dog bud "You walked into a grocery store with a tiny bit in your pocket and the clerk was like, “did someone hit a skunk?”

Sounds skunky to me.

My Blue Moonshine I've been trimming on has some real skunky aromas...
Just saying.

Chem lines are probably derived from old Skunk lines. Seems they share a lot of similar characteristics.

& what about the UK cheese, that's another old skunk 1!?.

The cheese I've had isn't really that pungent. I don't get why anyone would say it stinks, especially if compared to sour diesel. Maybe someone with more experience can clarify this. I've only tried it in the states, not england or amsterdam.

Pretty interesting, could certainly be some truth to that.

I Saw a picture of a GSC S1, and it looks very much like the skunk we grew in the 80's. There is a mystery strain in the makeup of GSC, I feel its quite possibly skunk. I already had that idea from a few clues, but the whole plant and bud closeup pics truly showed a very strong resemblance.

Funny story, the girl I give work to was in class today and a young morman girl started commenting on how the room smelled like a skunk had sprayed and eventually had the teacher move the animals (a turtle and guineas pig) out of the room because she could not concentrate. Others commented on the smell as well, although they knew what it was. I'm sure the young girl knew as well but was being coy. My friend, that the smell was coming from, held her eyes and head low hoping she would not be pointed out directly. She had not had any on her, smoked any before class, nor had she had it in the jacket she was wearing to class today. Her clothes stunk from being in the same room as the zip locked bag all night.
The strain is the fuzz by bodhi(chem 91 x Appalachia).:D

She really does stink, even triple bagged the smell gets out.
When growing her, she has bypassed my filter, crept under doors, found it's way down my stairs and I've come home to smell her outside my front door, she is truly pungent.
Stick a bud in your pocket and Everyone will know you have some, light a joint and heads turn to see where the stink is coming from.
I believe she is a true Skunk#1, maybe not as strong smelling as the original RKS but not far off I imagine.

I grown a few Skunk#1 over the year's, I remember one that I got from sensi seeds back in 95, flowers were longer and more golden but they stank just as bad.
I stank out a whole top floor of an apartment block I lived in growing them and hadto chop them a bit early after comments from some neighbours, god knows how I got away with that one.

I have never smoked any RKS that i know of, but i have smoked way more cheese than most... we here in central UK have a good few cheese cuts doing the rounds & lots of skunk #1 variants... i lived in PA USA for a short while & have smelt my fair share of dead skunks on the highways... I always remember the 1st time I smelt a dead skunk & %100 I thought it was gorgeous bud! frantically bouncing about in my seat, massive grin, head out of window, i couldn't believe our luck... lol just to be told that it was actually a dead animal :deadhorse
Anyway, we have a skunk #1 cut here quietly doing its rounds called Psychosis... this to me is stinkier than cheese, more body of flavour & has a similar undertone resemblance to the smell of a skunk for me...
I bought some DNA RKS just because the smell of dead skunks always stuck in my head.
i know this thread has 100+ pages & ill admit i haven't read though a fraction yet, so if what im saying has been said, apologies :smoke:

P.S. Big up Sam Skunkman!

I have a BlueCheese Plant that Stinks of Road kill Skunk and taste of Sour D/Chemdawg. First pheno that i have found that comes so close to Chemdawg/ECSD in stench and flavor But the plant is a short stocky indica leaning plant. The High is a ton of Couch Lock like weights being set on your body. Skunk #1 is the answer IMO.

The Ganja Gods do provide to those who are persistent and dedicated to finding what they want. The legal market in Oregon has opened the door! Yes I found the ever elusive Burn Your Nostrils Skunk Spray. Super Skunk is one of the few "in house" varieties found at Five Zero Tree's in Portland Or. I have verified and it is 100% the real deal. They sell out of it very quickly when it's in stock, next batch is due in January around New Years.
