I was under the impression that the feminized version of this variety has herm issues... but don't most feminized versions of any variety have herm issues? I found some that are not feminised so maybe i will have a better chance or are you guys calling out this variety?

When I searched for skunk in mns lines all signs pointed to devil. There's been quite a few documented grows of Devil having distinct skunk smells. The mention of them doing better outdoors came up a few times. I picked up 2 cheapo packs @ the auctions... big seeds

Its an older afghan/skunk line purportedly from Richard Davis in Cali.

The skunkiest stuff I've ever had was brought over from mexico around 95. I have dreams of crossing the skunkiest red devils with a red stemmed highland mex/bb. It could make an awesome guerilla hybrid for my locale.

devil, havent smoked it yet myself but all my testers are saying shes dank for sure.. no complaints on this girl.. shes got a weird smell to her,, then you break her up and put it in the bag and it reeks of dead skunk... i have to say.. you need more than 3 bags to contain this reek of the devil.. had a few grams in 3 bags.. and i was all nervous about having it in my pocket,, cause she fucking reeks bad.. id suggest keeping it in a canning jar.. definitely cant drive with this shit in your car unless its jarred up..

Shanti's lines seem to be the answer to for finding the real skunk grails. My friends in Canada had two pheno's of Mr. Nice's "Devil" that were huge skunk dominant plants with huge skunk-reeking colas. If there were no international lines, I'd be grabbing those in a heartbeat!

Killed a bunch with damping off early dayz .
Pretty potent . But the come down was nasty . Siesta senor ?

You've got great timing Elmer Bud. While I never got any pine/menthol from the original seeds, I am puffing on a Shit female from the seeds I made, and it has a very strong Pine taste & smell. Not really my favorite from this line at all tbh, and Ill be happy if it doesn't pop up again.

I never had any nasty come down from it. No noticeable effects when the high was wearing off, other that I wanted to get high again heh.

All this talk of Devil around here makes me want to snag some of that and grow it. Sounds like my kinda terpenes.

So what's the deal with your RKS Line ? I see there is a RKS 2 and RKS 3. I have never seen anyone find any roadkill phenos though ?
Do you have a roadkill leaning phenotype you found in the line ?

I`ve smelt plenty of Tom Cat piss . Never a Skunk though . Do you think they are similar ?

I have been thinking to myself while I read the quest for RKS . Smelling it in veg or even full flower won`t confirm the RKS ness . It was the smell of the cured bud that folks rave about . Most would have not smelt the plant in the garden . As they bought it as a commercial product and were consumers not growers .
Like your quote above the terps burn off in the 1st cpl of weeks of drying / curing . So after its dry and smokeable then check its smell ...

Yes EB it was dry and cured. I did smell it in bloom and it was super skunky late in bloom, just the same as the bag smell but fresh ya know.

With the way people want a RKS smelling plant you would think those seeds would fly off the shelf ? LOL. it doesn't surprise me though, kush,diesel and OG is all the young kids talk about. Me and my buddy are gonna end up getting a few packs to try out I think. The roadkill smell and a good potent smoke is all I'm after, I could care less about a name. Some of the best skunk i have smoked was called ozark skunk from missouri and i live in CALI also we had a cut of super skunk from new mexico about 10 years ago and that was a stinky one same story i had people telling me i was going to jail due to the fact that it smelled like half a block i need that back in my life

Glad to hear ozark skunk mentioned again. It's still chuggin along out here. I think the main reason skunk is so elusive to the cannabis community is that its mostly being grown by old boys out in the hills who've just been doin their own thing for decades.

What i've always found perplexing to think about is how the skunk stench passes through goddamn glass. Even in those thick ass jars with the latches it still finds a way. How the hell does it happen

Skunk spray and cat piss are totally different.

Cat piss is ammonia smelling and you can only smell it where the piss is.

Dead skunk smell is LOUD, you can literally smell a dead skunk about a 1/2 mile away. It is a very strong odor but so very light it can waft for great distances. Dead skunk smell is so complex, there is sour notes it's almost acidic to the nose, and at the same time is it so light and voluminous. It is quite literally unlike anything else on earth.

Dead skunk in the road also smells different then straight skunk spray. Dead skunk is much more aromatic and pleasing to the nose, straight skunk spray is not the same, its too concentrated and acidic to be pleasing.


I honestly feel that our best bet for finding this terp profile is to take a hard look at what we have then figure out how to put them together to form a true skunk odor. I feel that as far as RKS is concerned Skunk #1 is a complete waste of time. I think that what everyone is looking for probably has absolutely nothing to do with Skunk 1, it's like looking for an apple in a box of bananas it just aint gonna happen.

Cat piss is not dead skunk. Im not denying it's loud but if it smelled like dead skunk it'd be called dead skunk not cat piss.

FWIW I was talking about actual cat piss not the clone called catpiss.
