DrnkMonkey - Thanks for the info in my thread bro I just did a trans plant last nite and rip some roots but did my best to keep them think I need to!!! damn I wish I would've waited till this morning now that I read what you posted...
 
Ya see I don't use very large containers in my setup, so if I go from a 32oz Taco Bell cup to a half gallon or 2 liter container, then I need to do some ripping as I didn't increase the container size all that much. If you go from a 1 or 2 liter pot to a 5 gallon or 3 gallon, then your probably don't need to worry about ripping roots during a transplant.

I do it to kinda trick the plant into thinking it is in a much bigger pot by taking a small portion during transplanting. It is a trick I learned from back when I used to have bonsai trees. You don't want to jump pot size to much or then it won't be a bonsai tree anymore.

Well Drkn Mnky420 I transplanted that bitch and chopped the bottom 20% of roots and tossed her in a 2.5 liter pot and she's looking great!
 
I think revegging is possibly more important to us micro growers, for many reasons. If we don't have a large mother/clone area, it helps to cut down the amount of clones we need, therefore enabling us to keep mothers smaller. Furthermore, We may not have a large space, but we may have a few little spaces around the place. If one was growing drbud style, one could put revegging plants in an old subwoofer box or similar. It also cuts down on the amount of soil/perlite we have to keep around the place - our local hydro store sells perlite in ENORMOUS sacks, but not in small sacks. However, the local exotic pet (lizards, tropical fish) sell it in smaller sacks. Didn't look at perlite when I last went to the conventional garden centre but i do remember seeing small bags of vermiculite.. useful.

Keeping plants small, cuts down on space used, and power used to grow them. Which brings me onto a question for all you reveggers out there.

I've seen evidence that LEDs are useful for veg (crap for flower i know) growth, and thinking about a tiny reveg box to hold 4-8 reveggers in small soda bottles, just till they're fit to go to 18/6 then back into flower... Do any of you think that maybe a LED panel like all those ripoff merchants on ebay sell fairly cheaply would be useful for this? or would one be better off looking for an 11-13w CFL? I'm not one of these 'LEDs are the bizzle' guys but i like the idea of using them wherever possible in a grow..

EDIT: Hmm. just re-reading the other reveg threads i can find.. People are saying any veg light cycle would do? If so i could just put em back in 18/6 with the mamas.. Hurm... I need some smoke so i can read this shit thoroughly and think it through :cuss:

I am really glad that this thread is here because I tend to agree on the point of needing to reveg in a micro grow environment.

I would guess that a lot of people using a micro grow are doing it because they don't have the space or because of stealth. It seems that properly revegging plants would help with both of those as it cuts down on the amount of growing material you have to keep around. In addition, it cuts down on the amount of space you need to have available.

In regards to the LED lights, I would agree with your edit. I have read that 18/6 or even higher amounts of light time are suitable for revegging plants. As far as whether LEDs would be better? You should experiment and let us know the results! :jump:

I will definitely be keeping an eye on this thread. Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures so far. They are quite helpful to those of us wondering what the plant should look like along the way.

hey guys might be a stupid question but if you had a selection of cfl's daylight/ coolwhite . 100watt mh and 150hps and 400hps. which would you use and what time schedule 18/6 or 24. How far from the light should the upper most branch be?

thanks, as i'm gonna harvest a beautiful plant in 20 days and i would like to reveg. So as soon as i snip i put her back under light? How long after that can I begin 12/12 again?

MH/daylight bulbs are better than HPS for veg growth. It's all about the colour temperature of the light.

This is calculated based upon how hot one would have to make a carbon element to make it glow that colour. HPS good for flowering is 2700k (kelvin) which is more towards red colour. The same is true for 'warm/soft white' CFL.
MH good for vegging tends to be 3500-4100k which is mostly blue - cool white CFL are 4000k.

6400/6500k Daylight CFL are full spectrum, the same as the summer sun - a lot of blue in them though. Ideally i would guess these are the best CFL to use. The MH should work too, being a vegging spectrum. I'd say use the daylight CFL if you can get enough light from them. - my micro veg box uses 2x25w daylight cfl, and i'm going to try revegging in it.

I'll leave the other questions for people more experienced than me to answer. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Quazi, I will try doing this under LED eventually, unless someone else does before me or convinces me it wont work. At the moment I dont want my grow getting too complex, too many boxes etc but it is my plan to, over the next year or so, try and get the grow to support my needs under the absolute barest minimum wattage. At the moment, i'm around the 220w mark with lights, fans, airpump etc.. I'm thinking around the 150-175w mark.. Solar powering parts of the system is also something i am looking at.

Since this is my thread I thought I'd clear some stuff up for newbs that read this so it's not confused... MH/Daylight CFL put out Blue spectrum 6500K the MH bulbs that are 3000K - 4100K are more red and are probably Hortilux Bulbs for flowering...

What you want for leafy growth is the Blue Spectrum which is 6400-6500K
you can also use Full Spectrum CFL's which are 5000K and that is as close to sunlight as it gets at the moment.

My Mom/Clone cab has 2 26w 6500K CFL's and 1 65w 5000K CFL, as for revegin a plant after you flower just keep a few of the lower buds basically harvest all your other plants then the one you reveg just leave 10% of all the buds on it and flush it good and feed 10 drops of Superthrive and 1 tbs of Fish Emulsion per gal of water and wait for it to grow new leaves...

Nice keep the thread going, I think this will be what ill end up doing with my seeds once I have grown them out and picked the best mother.

Just to add :2cents: to the mix.

It seems that a lot of people take particularly special care to transplant, rip roots, flush, etc.

I've personally found that a fully harvested plant with just a few sprouts of leaves left near the base will reveg left in the same container. All I did was change the lighting to veg lighting dramatically. I did a 5-6 day increment going from 12/12 straight to 24/0, then 23/1, 22/2, 21/3 to 20/4. The nutes were slowly altered back to the vegetative nutes during this process.

They stayed in the same pot, revegged and are already back in 12/12 after a few weeks. The best was taken from the reveggers and turned into a mom. The others will be giving their second harvest a few weeks from now. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out compared to the first.

Just letting everyone know that it can be done. I'm sure some strains are more sensitive than others, but this is just my own experience with it.

Very nice thread. I'm gonna start one about whats best: sexing clones then taking a mother from the donors, sexing the first plants then taking clones off while in early flower, or flowering clones then ditching the male plants after that.

With the reveg, if you CAN clone early flowering cuts, then I would do both
for yield and obtaining a mother, and saving time.

Thanks for love guys I felt I needed to make this thread cuz when I wanted to try it out I couldn't find too many people other than DrBud doing it(maybe I was lazy with searchin) so I started this out with my first reveg. I have a Maui Wowi x Tooty Fruity in reveg right now just spitting out her funky leaves I'll get some pics up later..
