Coco isn't too expensive when you consider you can use half as much. I use to use 2-3 gal pots of promix. Now I use 1 gal pots of coco. Also you can reuse coco. I imagine you might be able to reuse promix but I wouldn't want to do that.

Coco is so much easier to flush and maintain the proper ec and ph levels. Don't get me wrong you can still grow awesome green in promix, but I have fully switched to coco.

Ph is always a battle in promix. I find putting dolomite lime into your promix helps big time. Keeps the ph balanced.

Just my experience.

Hey SG - thanks for putting up a visual to what I was saying. That's pretty much exactly what I had in mind when I was writing that lady post. If that was in promix at that age in that 1 gal pot it would be half the size. And like you said suffering.

The beauty of coco is you can keep it in smaller pots and feed it multiple times a day, and with some run off you avoid salt build ups and also give it logs of oxygen...

I am not sure what I would recommend to beginners I started in promix and when I switched there was definitely a learning curve but well worth it.

Ok well flushed 3 plants 2 being unhealthy like the ones I posted pictures of before and 1 having deficient signs that turns into what I have shown.
Plant #1 Watered at 7.5ph RO Water/ Runoff= 7.0ph/PPM= 358
Plant #2 Watered at 7.6ph RO Water/ Runoff=7.1ph/PPM= 343
Plant #3 Watered at 7.5ph RO Water/ Runoff= 7.0ph/PPM= 447 - this being the worst plant

Not sure if thats giving an accurate reading of the soil ph? Anyone have an idea?

Well it seems the plants really didn't seem to care for the flush and the deficient plant has gotten worse over night, I think it's time to just scrap em and be done with it. Tired of worrying over it and trying new things when nothing changes...what a waste

Well I went a bought a new bail of promix hp and transplanted into bigger pots to hope something better will come of it. I did a little run off check of the new soil in a 1gal pot with 7.5ph RO water. Runoff #1(5.5ph/1100ppm) #2(5.6ph/970ppm) #3(5.7ph/760ppm)
Runoff was collected in trays the pots sit in. Maybe this new soil will help the plants because the runoff of the very sick plants was neutral 7.0ph, watered with 7.5ph RO....kinda at a lost here still I thought over time the peat makes the soil acidic over time and not alkaline?

Also I got to thinking maybe I'm defeating the purpose of these organic nutes by adding ph up & down? Killing the micros in the soil thus nothing to break down the nutes I'm feeding wreaking havoc on the plants causing lock outs cause the build up of nutes in the soil. I'm gonna purchase hygrozyme and probably another alternative if anyone could chime in with any input I'd greatly appreciate it.

[/FONT]I had great results using your recipe outdoors last season in 15 gallon smartpots.

What amendments would you add to the mix to get it ready for the next season? I'd like to use it again outside for this year, but am unsure on how much to add of what amendments.
