Cant wait for NYE! unfortunately im going to get stuck getting tix off stubhub for way above face but this year will be 3 in a row for me and a first for my new gf! 
I did '09 and '10, glad i didn't do last year after listening to the shows, but i can't imagine that kind of disaster would happen again. I need my phish fix. oh well. I will be all over the place in '13.

I've been reading some of the previous posts, I'm done with New York after the Dick"s shows this past summer in Colorado. I'm hoping Phish ends the summer tour there again it was a blast. Phish needs to come back to Merriweather !!! Good Times To everyone !!!

Hell yeah this years CO shows were insane worth every penny to fly out but new years eve is always a party whether the playing is on point is just a bonus and after the tour closing run at dicks and the band supposedly rehearsing for the new album im pretty sure we are in for something special in NYC this year!

I'm kind of with you on this. Haven't been to MSG since the remodel, but in the old set up, the best spot to be was behind the stage in the 200's.
On 1/1/11 I was like 6th row behind the stage for the entire 2nd set. Shit was so sweet. I miss that place. Haven't been there since the remodel either. Have heard nothing but bad things about the new design though..
