I will have a steel grate wedged between the backseat and held in place between the console in the passenger seat. They will be completely separated, unless Ivan decides to go over the top. I think he’s obedient enough to listen to me now… I have a lead that snaps into the seatbelt receiver and will prohibit Ivan from going to the other side of the truck… Ivan is mellowing out, but he is super protective of me. If I had a Kulu, I would give it to Ivan to chill him out, but I haven’t seen them in 35 years…
I never heard of Kulu but they do make stuff for calming dogs. Nothing worked on my BB even the strongest prescription Xanax wouldn’t touch her travel anxiet. She would sleep for two days once we got home…

May get him a nice frozen marrow bone and one for the pup too. They sell them at the meat market and some of the fancy pet stores in the frozen case. They are a great distraction when you need them but wait and give it to him about 20-30 minutes before you arrive so he will be into it deep when he gets to the pups hose and maybe won’t raise hell to much.

I grew up with Italians for Neighbors and yes, that word is for rear end…

with the energy that Ivan has, I could give him a couple of Quaaludes and he would still bounce off the walls. I have faith that he will listen to me and behave. If I have to, I will move the passenger seat back and put the new pup there and keep Ivan in the back… I have a harness that plugs into the seatbelt and that will prohibit him from getting into the front of the truck, but I think he’ll behave properly. When it’s just the two of us he has military precision and listens to what I say… I have to get some puppy gear, so I’ll probably grab a muzzle just in case things don’t go as I expect them to. Ivan will adapt.
