that is cool man!
how many different individual posed did the casting make?
I don’t remember but looking at the picture of my sisters collection that I gave her there are three different poses. Each pose has an opposing side made out of an alloy with wooden handles and some sort of spring clip to hold them together. I should have the crucible to send with the molds… I am told my grandfather bought them during the depression and made them for my father… I’m told my grandfather bought all of his stocks while people are jumping out of the windows back in depression. I’ve got a picture of my father and my grandmother all dressed up in front of the Apollo theater and uptown Manhattan during the depression and they look pretty spiffy…

That’s a good question as to why there’s no blue soldiers. I guess I just had more red sitting around than I did any other color…😉 I made them for my nephew, but when my sister saw them, she wouldn’t let them touch them and put them up on the wall. Being there made out of pure lead, they don’t take a lot of abuse… my family has a very rich history in Manhattan in the performing arts district. My grandfather was instrumental in the Carnegie hall and my father ran Lincoln center from 61 until 70 when he died.

probably give them to a guy that has about 500 lbs. of lead...I can't see me using them again stain, let me go out and see where that are tomorrow...I'm sure that they still live in the lower drawer of my dad's tool box he made in 1952...I know you'd make good use of them...I've collected more stuff than any 4 people has a right to have...never too proud to dig in the trash pile...that's where treasures are found...
I lived in a neighborhood when I was a young child and we would always dig through the trash when someone moved. 😂. Imagine what we looked like. Three or four kids 5-8 years old poking around the trash by the curb!! Coming home with half broken radios and crap.

Hmmm. You’re not gonna believe this. But that is a classic sign of beinglow on coolant.
Haven’t need more than a quart of coolant in ten years. I do all maintenance and repairs on it. I was worried it was a warped head. Lots of people online claimed they passed a combustion gas test but head gasket and milling the cylinder head fixed it. It’s a D17 engine. If it never had a head issue it will be the only engine they made that didn’t. And she just turned 279,000.
