Evening east coasters. Almost done with the fireplace mantle. A few more cuts and it will be ready to stain, and install. The old one was made from particle board. This one is made from rough cut. The most complex thing on it is a routed edge. It I think it will look ok.
I was at a job 3 years ago doing some electric and the house was being prepped for sale
They had a oak fireplace mantle they took down and were throwing it away.
The Sanford & Son in me got the best of me and I took it.,My goddaughter sees it and before you know it its mounted in her son's room with dinosaurs sitting on it.

Ya. A bit of a hot potato. Since I am very apolitical, and do have some background in the discussed field, I will comment. Joe's an old man. Maybe not long on this planet. He had and has both the power and right to both commute and pardon, so he did what he decided to do. It is the right both the constitution framers and the electorate gave him. Right now, as an outsider, objectively looking in, the political scene is a nearly a toxic environment. More so now than I can remember in my lifetime. People change their minds. You and I have, I am certain. As I said he has the right, and decided to do so. Really not much more to be said. Our former president exercised this, as have all standing presidents. It is status quo.
