Well the truck that just won’t leave have us another present. First, we had to pull the engine to have a cylinder head replaced. But parts dept ordered the wrong side head. So we had it repaired. Reinstalled by another tech. He bent the valve while timing it and we didn’t know till it was running. Engine comes back out. Pull heads and send both to machine shop. Get them back, cam bearing journal looks like it was media blasted. Send both heads back. Get heads back today and the guy putting the heads on is confused. I come over there and damn if we don’t have two left side cylinder heads. Call machine shop. They say they didn’t do it. Only one set heads at the time for this engine. Well we dang sure didn’t pull two left side heads off this engine.
I don’t believe in voodoo but sometimes I wonder.

I'm not sure which is best for which but as I understand it icing is only good for certain back pain problems where as a nice heating pad is best for others. Like for example, I think heat would be the answer for a pinched nerve as the heat might cause the area to relax and allow the nerve to become unpinched. On the other hand I think ice is more suited for muscle strain. I could be wrong though as I don't do either for my back pain as the pain meds I take do a good enough job for me. I just know that heat tends to make my body relax and ice tends to reduce swelling and numb soreness from over use which I derive from seeing athletes take a nice ice bath after spending the day doing what they do in their sport.
Yeah, I think your right about the different uses for heat and cold. I do know they work on blood flow to the areas differently.
Pain meds take care of most of my problems unless I do something to aggravate the situation, which I have ne known to do. Lately I've been trying to avoid injuring myself, my pain levels can go from a moderate pain to severe pain in a short period of time. I've hurt myself so many times over the years that I get upset with myself when it self inflicted.
When I had knee surgery I had a sports doctor do the repairs and recall him giving me the info on hot and cold therapy, but I have forgotten what he told me.

Late coffee today, had to go into the village first thing. I don't very often see puddles of water but today there is, it rained all night and is still raining. The snow is down the mountain by 2/3rds of the way.

I have done all that. I was just sitting here talking to my daughter in front of my desktop and tablet and lost the connection just sitting here. Rebooted everything and back on .....WTF is happening.
I had an issue a while back and tried ‘everything’ including buying a new router. When the new router had the same issue, I called the cable company. The rep said my line was ‘noisy’ and that they’d send out a tech the next day. The tech, without checking the signal anywhere just started replacing cables, outside and inside. After all that he checked the signal and it was still bad. So he had to have their linemen come out and troubleshoot the street. Turns out something way up the street was bad and other neighbors were having the same issue. Grrrr…

Yep first thing to do is start replacing cables you don't if they were changed or tampered with by the home owner, mouse or rat chews, pulling on the cord making for a bad fitting.
Probably just had to reset levels and balance back out the system.
Could've been a tap going bad line extender going g bad, bad board in an amp.
It's not as simple as the majority think.
Could be a squirrel chew on the mainline.
When it gets colder out you can get suck outs on the main

Used to own a cable company and was a tech also, ain't much I ain't done

Good Fried Day morning brothers and sisters! Let the frying and dissipation begin! View attachment 19092944 View attachment 19092945

More rain starting at 49F and predicted to soar to 56F.

The gutters are all clean and ready for the winter deluges.

Off to the gym this morning and will be picking up my new DULoxetine pain meds for my back. Up to this point I have avoided taking anything for the pain but have run out of options.
Hi GW, same here, avoided pain meds until the only thing I could think about was pain, that changed my attitude quickly.

Is this a new drug and what injury is causing you grief. Please.
