Rain and cold weather is beating up Manute Bol. The weather looks good for the next week so she will keep on keepin’ on for now.

I couldn’t grow in that. My tents are all 80” tall. I can get a 48” plant in it. Taller if I super crop.
I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this tent, it was a mistake. Takes a lot of manipulating or growing short plants with a short veg. A couple of times plants have gotten away from me and grew above the lights, not good.

Oh well, I'll just keep on keeping on for now. If I ever buy another tent it will have more head room, that's for sure. This short tent is a pain in the butt, limits my opportunities.

120 is the largest I have. I actually had to clean it after the first batch because the screen gummed up. 😂

Has anyone vegged under HPS? Did some reading and seems there is a debate. Some claim to have done it for years. Others said it doesn’t grow as well.
I've done it with no real problems. I can't see where it's not good for it unless you're trying to keep the plants short during veg. If that is the goal you're better of using florescents or LED. Now with HID there is one distinction that can make a difference, the bulb. You can veg with HPS with no problem but in the veg staste the plant is looking more for blue spectrum light (as that's what is predominent in the sky during the veg season outdoors) do you should get better growth using a MH bulb when vegging indoors Other things that could impact growth using HIDs for veg is that since HIDs run hotter the temps will be higher and if you have trouble controlling temps that could cause problems. Also HIDs are pretty much the most expensive lights to use in terms of electric consumption and the fact that the veg cycles has the lights on for the longer period of time running HIDs for veg will jeck up your electric bill.

All things considered, if you have the space and your goal is to grow trees indoors then running a HID for veg should get you the biggest plant to put into flower. Unfortunately growing trees indoor under artificial light isn't that beneficial because it will give you plants big enough where the distance between light and plant becomes an issue. Outdoors the intensity of the light is virtually the same at 20 feet tall as it is at 2 feet tall since all the important loss of intensity happened getting from the sun to earth such that intensity differences due to the height of the plant is negligable. There techncally is a difference at 20 feet to 2 feet but it's such a small amount that it's negligable. Indoors with artificial light is different since inensity of the light is aggected by the reverse squared principal which says that the intensity drops by a factor of 4 for when you double the distance vertically. For example the intensity one foot from the bulb/light source is one forth of what it is at the bulb. At 2 feet from the bulb the intensity drops to one sixteenth, at 4 feet one thrity second and so on. So indoors under an artificial light you're really going to want to keep the plants at around 4-6 feet tall for good bud production. Doing a full veg (approx. 2 months) under a 1000W MH HID I can easily grow plants around 6 feet tall. That's not accounting for any increased height added during the stretch phase (typically first 3 weeks) of flower. Whereas if I do a full veg under T-8 floro's I can keep the plant at more like 2-3 feet tall such that the height added in stretch gets the plant to a good height for flowering indoors under a HID.

Now for clarity what I said above is based on using only 1000W HIDs as that is all I have. You can use HIDs to good effect without the height issues if you use a weaker HID in veg such as what Dogzter described. I prefer T-8 floro's for veg though as they give nearly as good results, run much cooler and consume much less electricity then a HID.

My 3x3 is 72 and it’s still short enough to catch me off guard. The 4x4 is 80 inches. I made sure of that!!

I have some over 100 years old silk that was used in the flour milling industry before they switched to stainless.
I almost think the weave is so tight that only the finest of particles gets through but it's what I have. I have sifted through an old T-shirt, then through the silk. I never seem to get much but that is not really my goal. I save up trim and unwanted bud for a couple of years. I can only get 2 crops a year if I can stay on task. My tent is very short and my crop yield is on the smaller side. A full grown plant has to be under 28".
It's nice to have some stronger cookies for times when I have over done things and l'm all hunched over and can't straighten up.

And a very good day to you GW, family and furry friends included.

It's all i run are short tents Oldman, I pull
2-3 ozs dry off them per plant also, pending on what strain it is.
I run 600w air cooled hps's.
I have no problem it's as simple as getting your back adjusted a few cracks a few there, wolla.
I normally throw 7 to 8 in per tent

I had Blueberry Blast of Snows produce 18z of dry bud I side in a 5 gallon.
When done it was tied to the floor joists from up above. It grew around the light.
Dam thing kept turning yellow so I'd give some nitro and just went haywire.
This plant here was not grown in a tent, just surprising to pull that kinda weight out of a 5 gal.

Don't fool yourself those small tents can produce alot.

My guess is the stuff caught in the bottom of the bowl, trimmer has some good trichomes in it…
I am going to scrape out the goodness in the bowl once all the plants are spun(after the above mentioned Manute Bol plant). I am hoping the plastic dough cutter I have will work for that. If not, I may get a bottle of Everclear and rinse it with that to make tincture. Tomorrow, my neighbor wants to make keif with her trimmings. I hope the dry ice is still there tomorrow.

Well I have messed around in the basement about as long as I can. To nasty to even think about going outside.

The subject today seems to be Ice fishing and how to make it comfortable..... I have done it twice. No hut. So I was standing out at the mercy of the weather. First time it was nice....no wind and sun. Next time was a two day outing. First day was again beautiful....caught several Mackinaw.....The next day was one to remember. I had my show mobile outfit on so I stayed comfortable. But my face was partially exposed.

Not good.....weather was minus 12 below zero with a 30 gusting to 40 mph wind. We stayed 4 hours. I had frost bite all over my face. My face turned back and blue.....looked like I had been on the wrong end of a 12 round fight.

I have no desire to ever do it again.

Turns out the frost bite on my face wasn't severe but it was bad enough. Kind of looked like this but a bit more like a bruise
