Having barfed in both the Atlantic AND the Pacific, I am a seasoned sailor.

There is no escaping that going sailing is the act of being cold, wet, miserable, and seasick while going nowhere slowly at great expense. It is like being in jail with a chance of drowning.

I had a sailboat for a while. It was so slow, I used to race islands.
Oddly - I've never been prone to puking - on or off land - once upon a time I did help crew an old motorised sailing JUNK - from Hong Kong to Manila - took us about 10 days in all - mostly good weather - but did hit a nasty squall half way along the route - when some of the other lads were projectile vomiting 🤢 all over the deck - which I managed to slip on and tore a ligament in my groin area - which was VERY uncomfortable - and took ages to heal - otherwise the trip was the stuff of memories - that hopefully I will never forget -

I have been on a cruise ship twice and been sea sick both times. Dramamine helped but made me feel groggy. Something about the ebb and flow motion when below deck…. As long as I was where I could see horizon I was fine.

Only time I have ever been sea sick…regular boats ….I am fine.
