May be too late!@#$%^, I replaced a failed photo electric switch in the lights over our driveway, which requires three hands while standing on a ladder and after I completed the installation, the lights stayed on all the time.
It didn't come with a wiring schematic, so I inferred that black was to hot and red was to the light, but since that didn't work, it suggested I was wrong.
Yesterday I got out the ladder and switched the wires and found that it didn't work at all, leading me to believe that it either arrived defective or I killed it by wiring it backward, so am back at the drawing board ordering another photo switch, but this time I will look for a US made instead of China, so I at least get a wiring diagram.
But ,the best way to check that is take the wire nuts off the black and red and touch them together .
it will tell you if they lite it is the sensor.
Some off brand leds sometimes are no good out of the box
