we have been in a digital economy for a long time now , hardly anyone uses cash anymore anyway so why not cryptocurrency?

and the dollar is backed by what , thin air?..

the feds just keep printing it and printing it , out of nothing , now there is a Ponzi scheme

the plunge protection team will not let the dollar crash , they will ease it down until it’s toast and replace the dollar with digital FedCoins

but make no mistake about it , the dollar will crash , it is a when and not an if scenario

the best hedge against the inevitable collapse is holding physical gold and silver…
Astute observation.

Simple question: Why do the richest & presumably smartest folks on the planet prefer to keep & store the vast amount of their wealth in US Dollars?? Good question!! :D
Because of the rule of law in the US vs other nations where grift is a national pastime.

everyone should have a few days provisions stored in their home
water and food are top on the list but also some kind of fuel item like those camp stoves are nice
i think another good thing to have would be wire and nails to build shit, that and duct tape

hey there pop rocks , how’s the feckers over in the NFL Thread?..

it’s got a good vibe over there and I enjoy ya alls banter

the Mormons require their followers to have at least a years supply of groceries in storage , I think it used to be 4-5 years

gotta be a good Mormon to get to the Highest Heaven

I was born a Mormon but backslid into a jack Mormon 😂

my great grandpas rubbed elbows with Brigham Young and one of my aunts was the wife of the Mormon president , I think his name was LD Snow

well one of his wives

between my 3 g-grampa , I think they had around 15 wives

Powell's a fuck up. During the last 1/4 pt. lowering and his public appearance he was asked if he would step down. Hell no! Gonna be interesting watching the cat fight come Jan. LOL between him and Trump.
Let's not forget that the Federal Reserve is a private corporation.

Powell isn't a US government employee. More like a janitorial 'service' for hire?

Trump will most likely absorb the FED activities into the US Treasury and Powell won't be.

It's like RFK said... "If they make it difficult to fire these people, we'll create an office in Guam and send them all there to work. They'll 'fire' themselves!" or words to that effect....

Real estate does sometimes cool off, but residential has historically come right back up and has remained a good hedge against inflation. The 10X plus increase in value of our rental properties was through the economic ups and downs.
Yeah but that 10X increase is only due to the low inventory on the market combined with low interest rates. Once interest rates start going up that starts taking some people out of the equation, mostly those looking for a place to actually live. The people investing for rental income tend to do better because they're usually well enough off to handle the interest rates as they first go up. At some point though, if interest rates keeping going up to more traditional rates then it gets expensive even for the investors and they start to back off and wait for rates to go down again. If building new houses gets back to what it should be to meet the demand that's going to start to reduce the value of houses downwards. At least that's how it used to be, this go around during the inflation houses held therir value better then many expected. So in the end it really depends on if the market continues to behave unusually or if it gets back to more traditional patterns.

IIRC it 'was' have a years supply of provisions, but about 8 years? ago it became 3 years of provisions...

Those Mormons know a thing or two about things coming down the pike.

it appears to currently be one year but I may be wrong

I don’t mind the food requirements

but I drew the line at a mandatory rule requiring the wearing of the Holy Undergarments 24 hours a day , even when taking a bath or shower

There are always a lot of theatrics leading up to the fight to pump up the interest and income, but once in the ring I don't think Tyson's ego would let him take a dive.

I don't know much about his opponent.
His opponant is just a well known YouTuber. His older brother Jake started fighting first a few years back and had some small success. fighting mostly other YouTubers. Not long after Jake started he got his brother in on it as an undercard fight but Paul ended up showing more real potential then Jake and stuck with it. He eventually started to fight some actual rated fighters but mostly ones past their prime and not really a solid challenge for Paul. Then he started interacting with Tyson. At first he was more respectful and looking for help on impproving his fighting skills. Eventually that led to an exhibition match to give Paul some cred by being able to say he fought Tyson. Somewhere along the way though he got cocky and even started making some personal insults that really pissed Tyson off (about his marriage I think but I'm not sure). Tyson meanwhile started off being not all that serious but at some point he started to really get the desire to get serious back and it became more of a personal challenge to see just how good he could get for his age. If you look around on YouTube you should be able to find some interviews with Joe Rogan where much of what I said above was documented. Now I suppose it could all just be some sort of hype that Tyson and Paul worked out but in the interviews I saw it looked pretty real and serious and even Rogan was taking Tyson's side over Paul.

Yeah I used to be on Friendly terms with some Mormons and they are definitely into the whole prepping thing, at least as far as food. The ones I knew all had two year supplies and mind you that was for a family of eight kids and two adults. These were the more modern version of Mormons with just one wife.
