My spiderfarmer has lasted for three years so far with no zipper issuer. i should have bought another one instead of going for the cheaper price of the AC infinity which had zipper problems since I got it. I have to be careful opening and closing it so it doesn’t get stuck. Had to cut out a piece early on. I would definitely look at the reviews. The SF is much higher quality but you can’t see it thru the pics or picking the thickness of the material.

Oh JEEPERS! Just now saw this:

Arctic blast bringing temperatures of -50F - 78 degrees below normal - is forecast to strike West and Midwest next week

  • An arctic blast threatens to bring temperatures of -50 degrees to large swathes of the West and Midwest next week
  • Meteorologists have said the polar vortex could sweep across the Pacific Northwest and roll into the Central and Midwest over the next five to ten days
It may be typical MSM boolsheet, but even the thought of it curdles my sperm.

Carumba! I wuz prescient with @OleReynard with this:

Well then @OleReynard, yer Unca has one last bit of help: Getcher arse the hell outa Minnesota*** The only thing between you and the North Pole is a barbed wire fence... and that's blown down.

I just checked Ventusky.com -- it is 72F outside here right now. Makes a LOT of owies go away. Get down here to Floriduh and catch lobsters (no claws here) by hand. (It is cold in the ocean right now: 77 degrees.)

***"Minnesota" <-- Chippewa Injun word for "Weather sucks -- BIG wampum!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds even worser nor my hyperbole is comin'... Take a quick vacation onna beach, here. Come home with sunburn and a shitload of sea shells.
Eh, it's OK.
I've lived thru 1 of the 5 toughest winters up here cold wise.
1 of the top 10 snowiest
This is where the Fukitols, BK and Wild Turkey come in handy
Hey hey Go Pack

I learned about bully netting them at night when I was a ranger at Pennekamp. Much easier than snorkeling/diving for them.

I never even knew about bully netting until just recently. Many times I have gone wading inna dark with a flashlight and a plain ole crab net. Din' have a boat in the Keys unless I rented one -- and that was for daytime only.

One time, me and my boys went down to the beach with a full-sized plastic garbage can to get it full of fresh sea water for our two*** saltwater fish tanks. We walked out in the dead calm water to about waist deep to get good clear water...

...and we discovered a "lobster walk". There were lobsters on parade just walking along on the sandy bottom! We started grabbing the biggest ones. Filled the fargin garbage can with 18 big bugs (limit 6 per) in about five minutes.

***Hadda have two. We named them the "Baby Tank" and the "Killer Tank". Since everything in both tanks was caught by us, we had a genuine time of discovery: If you have a tank with a fringed oyster in it:

and you add a shovel-nosed lobster to the tank:
1704718465314.png

You get an instant massacree -- the shovel nose feeties are built perfectly to open that oyster in one minute flat... so the next fringed oyster goes in the baby tank. Experimentation and discovery showed that we hadda keep some things in one tank and others separated and safe in another. No way of knowing ahead of time. I had a baby stingray (6") in a tank. And a baby triggerfish in the same tank.

The baby triggerfish attacked the baby stingray incessantly over a period of hours until the stingray died. (*sob*)

And you cannot keep baby octopi in any tank. They crawl out and wind up on the floor about twenty feet from the tank. Same Worse for fiddler crabs: Those little bastages climb out and go all over the fargin house... in closets, under beds...

The opening of recreational lobster season was not a fun time for the folks in ranger uniforms.
;)
The Fish Cops had a great scheme set up on the highway in the Keys at the end of a long weekend to catch overharvesters of bugs:

They had a sign on the road saying, "Lobster Inspection Station Ahead 1/2 Mile". There wasn't one. They just had some cops on the OTHER side of the road stopping those who made a U-turn. 😎

We never found it necessary to overdo the limit. We'd go out, and come home with 18 bugs. Thass a lotta lobster meat. BTW: I love lobster liver -- that is the green guts inside.

I remember our boys saying: "Lobster again? Can't we have a hot dog?"

Baby Corvettes are cute but I hated catching them when fishing. I would lmao @ Canadian tourists that didn’t do the Stingray shuffle n cry like a lil bitch. Good times! Fiddler crabs are great Sheepshead bait. CL🍀

Nice hens!

I bet ya'll can tell the difference in store bought "free range" chickens and my friend's?

Beard looks good, well trimmed.

I make one mean omelet.

Girlfriend dragged me to our local county livestock show last week in support of her friends. Her little friend, 9, entered with a chicken he and his parents raise on a large tract of land here in Texas. Those poor chickens undergo a lot of stress during the hectic event, being held up by their legs while an animal science pro checks the breast out for size one by one for meatiness, structure. I watched as a little girl lost her chicken to a anxiety induced heart attack. With tears in her eyes, she stroked its head as she crouched down in the lineup.

I'm an animal lover and hate to see such stuff. Don't care how "dumb" the creature is. But, that's life.

Make it a great day,
Uncle Ben

thanks for the kind words OUBen , I appreciate it..

no joke , those chickens are very interesting and intelligent creatures and I did learn to understand and respect their world

we started out with 27 chickens , all Buff Orpington’s , about 8 years ago

i have buried 27 birds and now we just have one rooster and 2 hens , 3 of the only offspring of the original 27….

it was so easy to get attached to them critters , especially when they would run up,to me and ask to be picked up and petted….

Bruno was a true killer , one hen dead and several other birds were in danger during Bruno’s reign of terror

and he met a warriors death , lost both of his eyes before Swede put the hatchet to his neck…

there was an interesting dynamic between the cats and birds….

Morning OFC.

Copious amounts of snow here. Supposed to be this way all day.

More scissor duty again today. Plus I gotta figure out something to do with the TK/GD! I have 3 and they need flipping. Haven't showed sex yet. Thinking about flippin all 3 hoping to get 2 females at least. Then keep one in flower and reverse the other so I can take cuts a make her a mother.

Somebody explain that to Walt....ha ha!
