Good morning brothers and sisters! Let the good times roll!

Cloudy here starting at 52F and predicted to reach 72F.

I got a letter from an extortionist, threatening to reveal that I visited a porn site if I don't send them $1950 Bit coin. Copy attached:

I haven't visited porn sites, and the whole thing is a scam, which I reported it to the FBI. I wonder if they will do anything about it or if it is just another E Pluribus Unum?

Wow, it would have been hard for me not to respond to that ugly message. They must get monies now and then with this message or they wouldn’t do it. I hope they catch the culprit and give them what for. So sorry this happened to you 🥰✌️

I get very mean to scammers and say things they have never heard and at times they asked me to repeat it and explain it

Two blonds were riding up an elevator. Long before reaching their floor, the elevator stopped and this really great looking guy got on. He smiled at the blonds, and reached over and hit the button for the next floor. Then he stood and admired the scenery while the elevator went up. When the door opened behind him, he smiled at the blondes, turned and went out the door. When he turned to leave, the blonds saw a large number of dandruff flakes down his back. The first blond turned to the second blond and said, " Eewweue!" The second blond said," Thats o.k. If I can get him home, I'll give him Head & Shoulders." The first blond asked, "How do you give Shoulders?"

A blonde, a redhead, and a brunette were all lost in the desert. They found a lamp and rubbed it. A genie popped out and granted them each one wish.

The redhead wished to be back home. Poof! She was back home.

The brunette wished to be at home with her family. Poof! She was back home with her family.

The blonde said, “Awwww, I wish my friends were here.”

Yeah most definitely a scam, in the past I've recieved a nearly identical email, almost word for word, at least in the part meant to be threatening. There was one noteable difference in the one I got, it didn't contain any address or phone number which obviously is meant to make you think he actually did get into your phone because he showed showed you your phone number and address (assuming those pieces of information are correct). Now in my case, like yours I knew it was fake because I hadn't visited any sites where I might be able to click thru any "girlie videos" more importantly though in mine he claimed to have turned on a camera on my computer to record me supposedly playing with myself while watching the videos he claimed I was watching. Just one problem though, I built my own computer and there is no camera within it anywhere, not even one built into the monitor. So there was no way he could have recorded a video of me doing anything let alone what he accused me of doing. Most likely he obtained my email address as part of a breach where user data was then sold on the dark web. His email was like most, likely the same as many other scam emails where they send out hundreds of emails to the addresses they bought, hoping for at least one of them would be received by someone who would believe it.

Now in my case I didn't report it to the police or FBI because I doubted they would be able to track him down and most likely if they did, he would be in a country where they couldn't touch him. So I just did like I usually do with such things. I deleted it and didn't give it another thought. Nothing ever happened nobody confronted me about a strange email with a video of me. Which kind of surprised me because I wouldn't put it past a scammer like this to create a video claiming to be me and send that out when I didn't comply to his threat. You did the right thing though even if he did record a video of you because ultimately they're looking for someone to give into them and send the money. If they ever found a person they were able to fool, I doubt they would just stop after that one time. They would know they got a phish on their hook and would keep doing whatever they could think of to get even more money. It's sad this sort of thing happens and even sadder that quite a few fall for such scams. Especially since there is usually obvious holes in their claims like in both our cases neither of us having ever been to the kind of site they claimed or also in my case claiming they recorded me on a camera that doesn't exist.
