I had one when I was a park ranger. It came with a Stetson too.wish I kept my badge when I was a crossing guard at 6th grade.
I wore one as a roustabout in offshore drilling as well as when an engineer in ship repair. Since then only when visiting certain places that it's a good idea, haven't worn a hard hat in years. the 80's i was a ironworker, late 90's i rebuilt railroad coal cars. all the rest of my working life has been spent in machine shops, that is till they figure out i can do what ever i want, and what ever comes through the door..
The sales manager for a company that I worked for and shall forever remain unnamed, put on a hard hat and with a clip board toured our direct competitors shop counting equipment and product, while gazing up at the fire suppression system.I was a land surveyor for a long time and can attest to the power of the clipboard.
It works on everyone nearly everywhere and has taken me places I wouldn't have ever been allowed without one.
Back when a badge really meant something!wish I kept my badge when I was a crossing guard at 6th grade.
They don’t like to see us with our clipboardsthat is what my oldest son does , Quality Assurance manager at a survival, company
Keep that shit up BrotherYou guys get started really early in the morning. The earliest I get up is 8 o’clock in the morning because I do not get to sleep until the small hours. Before they started cutting on me, I would get up at 5:30 every morning and be at the office at 6:45. I did that for 35 years and now I’m in the rocking chair, enjoying the fruits of my labors and my two boys…
I dont sleep like I used too.You guys get started really early in the morning. The earliest I get up is 8 o’clock in the morning because I do not get to sleep until the small hours. That sounds like one of my nights, but I finally just get out of bed at 2 AM and head out to the back porch with Ivan to hit the bong a couple of rips and I go back to sleep and I’m out… what bothers me the most is I’m in my deepest REM sleep when the alarm goes off at 8 o’clock. If I try to lay in bed with a heating pad, my body starts to ache so I have to get up and get moving… that’s the price we pay for playing too hard in our youthLay down at midnight toss like a rotisserie chicken until 6:30 then get up........very consistent with that for a long time now.
As for myself - it's jolly good to be around other like minded flatulent geriatrics - some more functional physically or mentally than others - I seem to fit right in - - so you are all welcome to hang out and shoot breezes - for however long it takes your fancy -this place reminds me of atlanta at rush hour...long gone are the days of knowing almost everybody that posts and some knowledge of all posts that are current...it's difficult to just check on what's new because there are a zillion threads...I miss the intimacy but not the lies and deceit that became prevalent there...I certainly burned the bridge with hippie and angie, called both liars many times on my last night...they're just sad people with no lives...my post count is very low, it's hard to keep up with such a large community...I enjoy you guys, the core of my friends online are yourselves...if this group were to dissapear my posting would cease...I'm sure there is plenty I don't know about growing flowers but I'm not learning much as of late...
Thanks for letting us hang out here. You can tell we are just a bunch of homeless rejects. All have been around the block more than once.As for myself - it's jolly good to be around other like minded flatulent geriatrics - some more functional physically or mentally than others - I seem to fit right in - - so you are all welcome to hang out and shoot breezes - for however long it takes your fancy -
Yeah - me too Boo - I remember some of it back in the day - and it was some fun - but we really must try make the most of our remaining days these days - ehh too many days - or not enough? - time will tell - just try and stay happy - or at least cordial - keeps the blood pressure down -thanks for having us gypsy, it's comfortable to be around other reprobates and misfits...it was easy for me at OG when I had the keys to the kingdom...I've gotten older, slower, and crankier...I thoroughly enjoy the banter with like minded folks...
