A. Advice from old person..... keep your teeth as long as you can.

B. Most dentists (all I know) will not prescribe any narcotic. Ibuprofen 600 is the most any dentist I have seen in years will prescribe.

YMMV

Also, no offense to dentists but everyone makes mistakes and many people lie just for money (say it ain't so). Might get a second opinion.

After the opioid epidemic, doctors prescribe weak medication because of the laws. To get a doctor to give you something that works as a minor miracle. I’ve been on pain management due to the damage. I’ve done to my body for 10 years now. Before the crisis, I could take as many as I want and get more but now I’m limited 2 1/2 10 mg hydrocodone every day. I’ve trained my body to work on that amount of medication and it works pretty well. If things are really rough at night, I’ll take a half one so I can sleep, but I don’t abuse my medication…getting high on opioids wigs me out and I feel very very creepy .

Was just Googling root canal...no way Jose
I have had 2, never had any pain afterwards. They extract the nerve. But the pain I was in before having them was way worse.

The worse thing about the root canal is having to keep your mouth open while the dentist drills and farts about in there.

But she kept rubbing her breasts on me, so I didn't mind.

Pre Opioid crisis a tooth extraction or a root canal was a sure way to get at least Hydrocodone or if you got a cool dentist you might get percocet. Neither will get you Michael Jackson high but if you're not used to opioids it will give you a buzz and pretty much knocks out the pain. Typically the only give you enough for about a week.

Now that it's Post Opioid crisis I don't know if they still do that or if you have to go thru a pain management clinic first.
In WV everyone sells pain pills and has a few in their pocket. Parkersburg has the highest rate of heroin deaths in the nation.

So I guess, judging by your recent posts that it's true, that Ford is really an acronym for Found On the Road Dead?
Most of the time but not this time. Saved another from the scrap yard. No leaks, no misses, no knocking noise. Even the power steering pump is quiet, amazingly. Just vacuumed down and recharged the A/C. It blows snow. -40f air coming out the vents.

Should make a great suv for his grand daughter. (first car)

Hot out....it's nap time. So be QUIET!!! LOL

If little Ivan eats anything besides his own dog food, you can guarantee that he’s going to heat in the house before he goes to bed. He appears to be a very sensitive stomach type of dog.
I had to take my pup off a high protein diet, he gets tummy issues easy peasy. When it sets in he's squirting for a few days. Poor things.
We get him a sensitive tummy kibble and he also has half a chicken breast as training treats every evening after we have eaten.

He really does look forwards to that. Likes to tell me when it's time for me to start cooking so he can have his chicken. :biglaugh: He'll go through his sit, down, stand routine in front of me to let me know.

Last time I had a molar extracted the doc sent me home w/ 30 vic's + 1 refill.
I still have some of them and it was at least 5 years ago. I didn't need them
for pain as it was just a tooth extraction. I use them occasionally 'recreationally'.
Meaning; motivation for house cleaning ;)
I never had a cavity until I went on the osteoporosis drugs.
Within 7 years I have had multiple cavities, extractions and root canals.
All that bullshittery but I did get some shiny gold teefs.
Been alternating between yellow and white gold.......next ones yellow.
😝
