acreage seems to own the cannabliss dispensary chain

Looks like they will go public and have an IPO soon.

Acreage Holdings, the New York-based marijuana company that just added former House Speaker John Boehner and former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld to its board of advisers, may be going public in the not so distant future.

“Their plan is to take the company public soon and become a dominant player in the cannabis industry,” Weld told FOX Business’ Stuart Varney. “They’ve got the money behind them.”

Both Boehner and Weld agreed to join the board of advisers of the pot company immediately and are committed to joining its board of directors once it’s officially formed, according to a news release from Acreage Holdings.

Those fuckers. Those dirty motherfuckers. I fucking hate all these fat cat fucking New York, Massachusetts, and California pricks who have to belly flop themselves right in the fucking middle of every goddamn thing.

Only they only wanna belly flop after it's legal and they can push everyone out who's been doing it for years and actually gives a damn. Fuck them, and fuck all the dopes who buy their shitty weed at dispensaries.

You don't hate out-of-staters, you hate capitalism. This is the inevitable result of capitalism.

What's the difference between capitalism and socialism?

In capitalism, man exploits man.

In Socialism, its the other way around.

A much smarter man than I once said
'I'm sure the best Ganja in the world is grown in some small garden in someone's backyard. It'll vary from strain to strain and location and weather pattern, but ultimatley, each year some small farmer will perfectly match the weather cycle, seed, feeding schedule and harvest timing to perfection. Little will they know, or anyone else for that matter that that small harvest will be the high water mark for the year.'

I basically strive to be that person every year.

I have the feeling it's going to be similar to small batch bourbons very soon. I'll go into a bar and yell 'Seven and Seven's! Keep em coming!' knowing full well the comparative crap Seagram's 7 is to what my friends send me from Kentucky. Cuz when I'm at home, its nothing but Jeffersons Reserve, Van Winkle and Weller.

Keep producing, never stop. The market has been so topsy turvy I have seen many people selling their grow equipement on Craigslist and getting out. I have hope that this year the States will produce less Ganja than last year.

Oregon has 4 million people, I think NYC had 12 million. And that city is like China and Soybeans. Their is NO WAY they can produce enough Ganja to make it through the year.
And that just one city in one state, Everyone I ever knew in Mass. had some relationship with cannabis and that city has a 99.7% occupancy rate.

Keep your head up.

I hope all my Oregon Ganja people have the best summer ever. Stick together like Humboldt/Mendo/Trinity in the 90's and early 2000's.

Peace

No, I hate the obnoxious jackasses who only have money and only see money and insist on forcing themselves on everything for nothing other than money. It just so happens that most of those sad, pathetic excuses for human beings come from/base themselves in NY, MA, and CA.

Socialism is just as materialist and incapable of appreciating intrinsic worth as capitalism. Don't try to politicize my hatred for obnoxious asshats.

aka 'Captalism'.

Way to ignore the rest of my post where I mention how Socialism pays no heed to the intrinsic value of particular things either. Both treat everything as mere resources, and neither has ever truly served anybody but the people at the top. In Capitalism and Socialism both, everything is nothing other than resources, materials, wealth, and production.

Get your head out of the fucking sand and stop taking for granted that your "side" is just oh-so-clearly in the right and objectively good.

You know who else I hate? Obnoxious asshat political/moral grandstanders who think and act as if everything is just so obvious and that they're so clearly in the right about everything and so think it's their duty to force their opinions on everyone else -- without ever considering even for a second that they might be wrong or simply a fucking idiot.

I also hate that those very asshats do just as much to ruin good things and places as the fatcat money-grubbing asshats. Both aforementioned factions of asshats are doing their part to ruin everything and everywhere that was cool.

Shame on you.

And don't try to tell me what the fuck you think I think. Who the fuck are you? Do you have graduate degrees in philosophy? Have you studied Hobbes, Lock, Smith, Hegel, Marx, Adorno, Zizek, Negri & Hardt, and Hayek with renowned scholars whose work revolves around the aforementioned thinkers?

No? Well I have. Keep your political grumbling to yourself or -- better yet -- get off your high horse altogether.

Not to be an ass--which is where your rant is headed--but yea, I have read that stuff and have the degrees necessary to pause your roll. Used to teach others how to read it back at state U.

Beta's right, just less long-winded and diatribe-y. I'd go into more detail, but doubt anyone gives a damn about the nuances.

He's right in his condemnation of capitalism, but he's wrong in what is left unsaid in his condemnation (namely, that socialism supposedly isn't condemnable in the same vain of reducing everything to bare, interchangeable resources, materials, commodities, rations, etc.).

Those are, like, just your opinions man. If we can learn anything from Marx, it's that concepts such as "capitalism" and "socialism" are meaningless outside a deep analysis of their particular form at a given historical moment. Ease up with the McJudgements, we're talking about Oregon weed here.

Best post in the recent conversation. I thought it was worth reposting, especially this:

We need to stop training people to judge weed by bag appeal. That is what is short circuiting actual market forces. When we can share some, without the smoker seeing it, then sell it by it's effects, only then will people appreciate the value of the connoisseur producer and the incredible diversity of the plant.

Hey, I was making a joke that there is little to no difference between Capitalism and Socialism. It's all man exploiting man. I didn't mean to start a political or philosophical anger management session.

When I was growing up I loved the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson, it wasn't until years later I realized (or had it impressed upon me) that it was fantastical/philosophical conversation between John Hobbes and John Calvin. That was the beginning of my love for this kind of debate.

The weather has turned! Working on getting some Hazey Trainwrecks into the HotHouse to harden off before getting them into the greenhouses.

Also, Clones of TimeWreck are supposedly being taken for us on Monday. I might be able to run one this year (full season) but it's my hope to replace the finicky HazeyTrainwreck with the more stable Timewreck.

Peace

Nah, you did not start it. The anger is already out there boiling away. We just stirred up the shit storm here for another round of dung slinging. Oligarchs are a fact of human life. In every prison one guy always winds up with all the cigarettes. Just the way it is. If capitalism is the path to legal weed, then I will take it.

One has to wonder why did these guys screaming here not get all pissed off and riled up at the cartels before McConnel and Boehner got involved in Cannabis? Are not the cartels the ultimate greedy oligarchs in the capitalist pyramid scheme of illegal marijuana? They are just being replaced with greedy politicians and taxes in a legalized capitalist scheme is all. Nothing has really changed. Except... now I can legally grow, carry and smoke my own weed and bypass all the greed and taxation and pyramid scheme crap.

You can bypass the commercial world, but you're still not quite free enough to compete with it on quality and variety because of plant counts. The beer drinkers still have the freedom to grow all over their own material, as much as they want unregulated and unrestricted although they're only allowed to brew 300gallons annually. 4 plants is an OK start, but that limit was only put in place as part of marijuana controls that were part of Oregon's side of the deal to comply with the Cole Memo agreement. That agreement has been vacated, bit I'm still somehow limited to 4 plants. I view that type of creeping authoritarianism with tremendous suspicion because as always someone is going to end up with a lot of cigarettes that were rightfully mine. We already have weight limits for possession, limiting plant counts is regulatory double jeopardy, which is just fine with the regulators because given that marijuana is still federally illegal they feel that is suddenly OK for them to usurp basic constitutional protection. Hey theres that creepy authoritarian feeling again. Rant rant rant blah blah blah don't even read this post maybe i'm just a crazy old paranoid.

I just saw the news about Trumps VA nominee being a party animal and I wanted to use the opportunity to remind everyone that OLCC boss Steve Marks is an alcoholic who drives drunk on a daily basis both to and from work and that he has multiple DUIs and that during his confirmation hearing he lied to the state legislature about his drunkenness and DUIs and suffered no consequences at all because that would have been too embarrassing for the entrenched single party government which would have had to admit fallibility to discipline one of their own. Nobody seems to care about this kinda thing, but when someone from the other side does it suddenly they're all hot an bothered. Former OLCC honcho Rob Patridge settled the sexual harassment suit against him and the victim was paid big money out of state funds while the perpetrator suffered no consequences at all.
Ask the fuckbuckets running the state government they'll talk until they're blue in the face about how awful, dishonest, self serving, corrupt, illegal, etc. that the people currently in charge in Washington DC are. Both groups are clearly addicted to Jenkem.

I can beat pretty much any commercial grown weed hands down in my greenhouses here for quality. I can (and do) select from any number of clones available on CL or online, or at weed stores like Harvest Connoisseur or Maritime Cafe. All legally at the state and local level anyway. Also with an OMMP card and someone else living at my address, I can grow 10 mature plants (6 + 4) and 12 clones at a time. More than enough to do some interesting breeding with males and cloning for trades and such.

At the federal level, booze has always been taxed going way back to the Whiskey Rebellion in George Washington's time. Except during the booze prohibition during the 1920s and into the 1930s. That required income tax to be instated as a revenue source for the government before prohibition could happen though, because until then the US government was funded on booze taxes.

Not much is new these days... it been this way since 1791. George had to pay for the Revolutionary War debt. So our freedom from the Brits came at a cost of taxing ourselves to pay off the loans that we got from France to pay for the war. Now we are paying for global domination and so many pork barrel items with taxes and bonds that it is insane, and the US debt is massive.
