I have not had gnats in 5+ years. I have not had a dud yet but I try to keep up on this. From what I have read there is no chemical, biological, or cultural controls known to control this nematode. The only thing that is discussed is Chitin. Chitin is a protein found in the walls of nematodes. Many fungi that attack nematodes do so by breaking down the chitin, exposing the nematode to infection or desiccation. Adding extra chitin to the soil stimulates the fungi population and seems to speed their action against the nematodes. There are products available with chitin in them, but they may not be considered organic due to their urea content, which is a synthetic fertilizer. I use Crab shell and Chitosan Powder. Will be changing out the Chitosan powder to insect frass with has Chitin in it. just to be safe. I have no other options it would seem..
Now thinking about it I've chucked a beefy Tahoe,sr71(stunted growth), and lemon Larry clone that dudded. I was a new grower and temps were high 90s and low 100s not to mention root problems. But you live and you learn. But I wish I didn't have to learn with those cuts
Yeah I use heads recipe 6/9 gh flora micro and bloom. The micros got a lot of N, I'm playing around with feeding them 3/9 with a little koolbloom for the ogs, hopefully that rectifies the problem
ive grown og on 6/9 and its a fine profile. shouldnt be the nutes profile. if anything strength. you can run 6/9 clone to finish if you run it the right e.c.
not trying to shoot you down but maybe steer your process. i can attest that og will grow well in the right environment on kiss or lucas coco ratios if there are no pest or pathogens. og wants to be root bound in coco. really root bound. if they need more than a day to get watered youve grown the root mass in too big of a pot for the size plant youre growing.
my guess is you hae some root issues from the looks of those. it looks overwet or too high feed. or maybe ill.
all that said it doesnt look extreme. maybe just some salt build up or slightly too wet./ it looks like its a dank cut. looks like frosted og but the claws on the buds are tale tell.
I was thinking too much N because the sfv got the characteristic dark leaves before clawing, the ghost, purple tahoe, and skywalker are all handling heads 6/9 just fine. I know swerves not the best point of reference, but I read something he wrote about the sfv cut, he said to basically start it at 6/9 in veg, and slowly reduce the micro and increase the bloom in flower till it's not getting any micro, the sfv is supposed to he way more sensitive to N than other cuts of og
the legend is a pleasure to grow. shes not super finicky. the high on her is pretty crushing and she has a nice little creeper effect. she smells like those lemonhead candies you can get at a gas station with a lite pineyness. shes also a breeze to trim...easiest plant ive ever had to trim.
