Yep, I like the penetration of a 400. Moved up from a 250 in this tent. I don't yield any more than I did with the 250, but the penetration allows for bigger buds and slightly less training.

I don't have any more advice for you, but I will say that the top layer of vermiculite doesn't sound like a deal-breaker. A thin layer like that would probably just act as mulch, which is I think what you are going for, if I understand you correctly. I'm not sure that I would agree it is necessary in the first place, though. I've never done that for any of my hempy grows. When I first plant a freshly-rooted clone into the bucket, it looks a little rough for the first few days, but then when the roots reach the res below, the growth takes off and the plant bounces back. I've never actually had to water more often or anything like that, although I don't suppose that would hurt either.

But I grow solely with rooted clones, never seedlings. Maybe that would make a difference?

Here's my newest setup. Just got it going a few days ago. 2 gallon buckets, hydroton down in the res, then the rest is Cyco Coco Pearl. Semi-automated by a pump that feeds the irrigation tubing.

You should rock it with that.. how often is your irrigation feeding? I think with the hydroton in the res, you'll have to do it a little more often than if you had perlite down there. Looks good tho!!

I'm going twice a day right now. It takes about 30 seconds to overflow at this rate, which seems like twice a day is appropriate for the moment. :)

& my 4 3 gallon squares of straight coco DTW at 8 days .... doing a little side by side to see if the yield is much different , not perfect , but it'll give me a good idea of the difference , if there is any .

same plants , same amount of coco (except for the perilite rez on the hempys ) same veg time same lighting & air circulation .... etc .....
I use 600 watt horti's here & the tent in the first set of pics has 1000 watt horti's all on galaxy digital ballasts .

Why not just follow the Rez/Head method and cut out the GH Floragrow and use just 6ml/9ml of Floramicro/Florabloom and 1g epsom salt...or better yet,Coco A and B?

Would you look for run off every feed, So as to not accumulate build up of salts? Is there a rez/head thread jnugg ? Why would you say to cut out the gh grow? I thought it was specifically a 3 part mix? Thanks for the reply :)

Is it best to flush out mini hempy every feed? Lookin for say 30% run off every time? Or can you get away with feeding say 50 to 100 mil every day without getting runoff? Cheers.

Yes runoff every feed of 15 to 20%

If you ever read about the lucas formula or at the guaranteed analysis on GH Floramicro, you would know that there is plenty of N in the Floramicro,so much so that you don't need the Floragrow.

Getting mixed results with gh nutes in straight perlite an perl/Verm mix. Can't dial gh nutes in yet. Still useing thrive, seasol organic health tonic and Epsom salts on most ATM. What is max ppm for seedlings? What ppm is considered Hard tap water? If tap ppm is over recommended ppm should i use gh hard water? Any better products than GH ? Tryd coco products with coco coir once and had big probs. Thanks.

When u say 6ml/9ml 1 g Epsom that is per 4 litres? Can I use white vinegar or should I get ph down for gh? Use vinegar in tea I make to ph without issues but unsure about gh.

Can someone give me max ppm for hempy seedling stage, veg, transition and flower? Thanks. Sure I'm under feeding, some had purplish stems. Bottom leaves turning yellow. Clawed lower leaves. Ordered ppm ec meter. Be here next week so need ppm feed chart. Useing tap water and sure it's hard water.

I run 2 litre buckets with straight coco coir. Then I mix 6ml of micro and 9 ml of bloom per gallon General Hydro line up. I make up about 30 gallons at a time and use a paint mixer connected to a drill to mix it up. It has been working AMAZING! I wouldnt change it unless it was for organics :) Loving just the Lucas Formula!
