Just be mindful while using aspirin. It's an acid with a very low ph.
A single aspirin tablet in a gallon of solution barely effects the PH, and PH is always adjusted after your mix is complete.

I use 100% perlite because it is so easy to re-use. Can u re-use coco after a hempy run? If not the cost for coco will be much higher then to use perlite.

Yes, you can effectively use coco up to 3 times. Just be sure to clean it well if using high pk boosters in your flowering phase.
You get much better results using coco over perlite, imo

Anyone using large chunk perlite? I have only used large chunk as I feel it gives roots more room but my plants are so top heavy, they are literally leaning against the wall or just drooping down. I wonder if the plants would be more stable in regular small chunk perlite? I see some of you have holes in the top of your buckets to tie strings to..I will have to drill a couple of those for the next grow.

Coco hempy buckets outperform perlite all day. I didn't believe it until I tried it. If you are using perlite, switch.
I hear ya. Let me ask this...I use Jack's Pro nutes and have had great success with them. Now, I'm not going to think that the results couldn't be better, but I've got a very good stock of nutrients and I'd really hate to switch to a solution that works better for coco when I've got what I've got in stock.....so that's why I'm a bit reluctant to change.

I don't blame you as nutes are expensive.
The thing about coco nutes is that they are lower in potassium and higher in calcium and magnesium. This is because the coco naturally is high in potassium, which will tend to cause deficiencies of ca and mg at the normal soiless nute ratio.
You can use your regular nutes, you just have to feed accordingly. Coco nutes takes out all the guess work though.
wow! thanks guys! this might be just the thing I needed. I currently use calcinit along with the jack's pro....so my real expense would be the medium, which isn't so bad. I hate to ask this here...but since we're here, how possible is it to recycle the coco? I've been recycling perlite for a few years and it works great. My current set up is very cheap to run and we're constantly flipping plants and I thought I had sort of painted myself in a corner. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with what we've been pulling, but if it could be better with a little more input, I'm all in. Again, thanks a whole bunch!!!
coco can be reused up to 3 or 4 times as long as you use some enzmes in flowering to get rid of the dead roots .
personally I don't reuse anything , i just don't have the space to keep it & reuse it . i just dump my root balls in my buddys garden & he mulches them in each spring . canna coco is cheap enough too , i get about 10 2 gallon pots of coco out of each bag which is only 25 bucks .

More efficient root development and spacing in the coco. Perlite is also a wicking material and it doesn't hold moisture well.
